朝阳师范学院坐落在中华文明起源地之一、被誉为“世界上第一只鸟飞起、第一朵花绽开的地方”——辽宁省朝阳市，是朝阳市唯一一所公办普通本科高校。学校始建于1960年，时名朝阳师范专科学校，朝阳教育学院、朝阳市第一师范学校、朝阳职工大学先后并入，1993年更名朝阳师范高等专科学校，2024年升格为朝阳师范学院。

Chaoyang Normal University is located in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization and known as "the place where the first bird flew and the first flower bloomed in the world". It is the only public ordinary undergraduate university in Chaoyang City. Founded in 1960 as Chaoyang Teachers College, it was successively merged with Chaoyang Institute of Education, Chaoyang No.1 Normal School and Chaoyang Vocational University. In 1993, it was renamed Chaoyang Teachers College, and upgraded to Chaoyang Normal University in 2024.

学校立足朝阳，面向辽西，辐射辽冀蒙，形成了师范教育为主体的应用型办学定位和“面向农村、面向中小学、突出师范性、突出地方性”的办学特色。建校65年来，先后为农村义务教育和学前教育培养了6万余名优秀师资和2万余名地方经济社会发展所需的技能型人才，朝阳农村中小学、幼儿园56.2%的在职教师和70.8%的校长、园长是学校毕业生，在本地区教育事业发展中起到了支柱作用。

Based in Chaoyang, facing western Liaoning and radiating to Liaoning, Hebei and Inner Mongolia, the university has formed an application-oriented school-running orientation with normal education as the main body and the school-running characteristics of "facing rural areas, primary and secondary schools, highlighting normal nature and locality". Over the past 65 years since its establishment, it has trained more than 60,000 excellent teachers for rural compulsory education and preschool education and more than 20,000 skilled talents needed for local economic and social development. 56.2% of the in-service teachers and 70.8% of the principals and kindergarten directors in rural primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in Chaoyang are graduates of the university, playing a pillar role in the development of local education.

学校现占地面积962.37亩，建筑面积25万平方米，固定资产7.21亿元，教学仪器设备值1.14亿元，图书馆藏书113.38万册。设有12个二级教学单位，1所附属实验学校，开设本科专业10个，专科专业28个，涵盖教育学、工学、管理学、理学、文学、艺术学等学科门类。现有教职工724人，其中专任教师486人，全日制本、专科学生9266人。

The university now covers an area of 962.37 mu, with a building area of 250,000 square meters, fixed assets of 721 million yuan, teaching instruments and equipment worth 114 million yuan, and a library collection of 1.1338 million books. It has 12 secondary teaching units and 1 affiliated experimental school, offering 10 undergraduate majors and 28 junior college majors, covering education, engineering, management, science, literature, art and other disciplines. There are 724 faculty members, including 486 full-time teachers, and 9,266 full-time undergraduate and junior college students.

学校是国家语言文字工作先进单位、国家级语言文字规范化示范学校、全国国防教育特色校、辽宁省高水平特色专业群建设高校以及兴辽卓越院校建设单位，先后荣获全国巾帼文明岗、辽宁省先进党委、辽宁省文明单位等荣誉称号600余项。

The university is an advanced unit of national language work, a national standardized demonstration school of language and writing, a national defense education characteristic school, a university with high-level characteristic professional group construction in Liaoning Province, and a construction unit of Xingliao Excellent University. It has won more than 600 honorary titles such as National Women's Civilization Post, Advanced Party Committee of Liaoning Province, and Civilized Unit of Liaoning Province.
