长治医学院是山西省属全日制普通高等医学院校，坐落在素有红色之都、魅力之城美誉的山西省长治市，位于太行、太岳腹地和晋冀豫三省交界，是本地区开展人才培养、医疗服务、医学研究的重要基地和进行对外交流与合作的主要窗口。学校创建于1946年，其前身是晋冀鲁豫军区白求恩国际和平医院总院护士学校，是在刘伯承、邓小平等老一辈革命家的关怀下，由延安中央医院院长何穆博士亲手创建，是中国共产党最早创建的医学院校之一。

Changzhi Medical College is a full-time public higher medical institution affiliated to Shanxi Province. It is located in Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, known as the "Red Capital" and "Charming City", in the hinterland of the Taihang and Taiyue Mountains and at the junction of Shanxi, Hebei and Henan provinces. It serves as a key base for talent cultivation, medical services, and medical research in the region, as well as a main window for external exchanges and cooperation. Founded in 1946, its predecessor was the Nurse School of the General Hospital of the Bethune International Peace Hospital of the Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu Military Region. Established by Dr. He Mu, the director of the Yan'an Central Hospital, under the care of revolutionary elders such as Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping, it is one of the earliest medical colleges founded by the Communist Party of China.

学校历经多次更名与发展，1986年升格为本科院校并更名为长治医学院，2011年成为临床医学硕士专业学位研究生培养试点单位，2021年正式获批硕士学位授予单位，拥有临床医学、护理、药学3个硕士学位授权点。学校秉承“厚德、博学、求是、创新”的校训，形成了以厚德精业、济世报国为核心的长医精神，累计为社会培养输送7万多名优秀医学人才。

After several name changes and development stages, the college was upgraded to a undergraduate institution and renamed Changzhi Medical College in 1986. In 2011, it became a pilot unit for cultivating postgraduates with professional degrees in clinical medicine. In 2021, it was officially approved as a master's degree-granting unit, with three master's degree programs in Clinical Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy. Adhering to the school motto of "Virtue, Erudition, Seeking Truth, Innovation", the college has formed the "Changzhi Medical Spirit" centered on "Virtue and Excellence, Serving the Country through Medicine", and has cultivated over 70,000 outstanding medical talents for society.

目前，学校形成了医、工、文、理、管理、艺术多学科协调发展的办学格局，设有22个教学院系（部），开设21个本科专业，拥有校本部和五龙校区两个校区，占地面积757.13亩。拥有国家级一流专业建设点2个、国家级特色专业2个，直属附属医院5所、非直属附属医院7所，实践教学基地142个，是全国第一批卓越医生教育培养计划项目试点高校，临床医学专业通过教育部专业认证，正朝着建设特色鲜明的高水平应用型医科院校目标迈进。

Currently, the college has developed a multidisciplinary educational structure integrating medicine, engineering, liberal arts, science, management, and art. It comprises 22 teaching departments, offering 21 undergraduate programs, with two campuses (the main campus and Wulong Campus) covering an area of 757.13 mu. It boasts 2 national first-class professional construction sites, 2 national characteristic specialties, 5 directly affiliated hospitals, 7 non-directly affiliated hospitals, and 142 practical teaching bases. As one of the first pilot universities for the "Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, its Clinical Medicine program has passed the Ministry of Education's professional certification. The college is striving to develop into a distinctive and high-level application-oriented medical university.
