大连民族大学位于美丽的海滨城市大连，隶属于国家民族事务委员会，是全国110多所中央部属高校之一，是国家唯一设在东北和沿海开放地区、以工科为主多学科协调发展的民族高等学校。学校以铸牢中华民族共同体意识为主线，建设目标为高水平现代化综合大学。

Dalian Minzu University is located in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian. It is affiliated to the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and is one of more than 110 universities directly under the central government in China. It is the only ethnic institution of higher education in Northeast China and coastal open areas that focuses on engineering and develops multiple disciplines in a coordinated manner. The university takes forging a strong sense of the Chinese national community as the main line and aims to build a high-level modern comprehensive university.

学校现有开发区和金石滩两个校区，占地面积1600多亩。1984年立项筹建，1993年招生办学，是国家民委、教育部、辽宁省政府、大连市政府共建高校。学校设有21个教学科研单位，58个本科专业，涵盖工、理、经、管、文、法、艺、农八大学科门类，拥有9个国家级一流本科专业建设点、27个省级一流本科专业建设点，以及2个一级学科硕士点和6个硕士专业学位授权点。

The university has two campuses, Development Zone and Jinshitan, covering an area of more than 1,600 mu. It was approved for preparation in 1984 and started enrolling students in 1993. It is a university jointly built by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Liaoning Provincial Government, and the Dalian Municipal Government. The university has 21 teaching and research units and 58 undergraduate majors, covering eight disciplines including engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law, art, and agriculture. It has 9 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 27 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, as well as 2 first-level discipline master's programs and 6 professional master's degree authorization sites.
