大同煤炭职业技术学院（Datong Vocational and Technical College of Coal）是经山西省人民政府、教育部备案的公办高等职业学院，位于历史文化名城大同市，学校代码12780，办学层次为专科。其前身为1975年创建的大同矿务局工人大学，历经多次更名与合并，2008年正式定名为大同煤炭职业技术学院，是全国较早举办高等职业教育的院校之一。

Datong Vocational and Technical College of Coal is a public higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Shanxi Province and registered with the Ministry of Education. Located in Datong, a famous historical and cultural city, it has a school code of 12780 and offers专科-level education. Formerly known as Datong Mining Bureau Workers' University founded in 1975, it went through several renamings and mergers before officially adopting its current name in 2008, making it one of the earliest institutions in China to offer higher vocational education.

学校占地375亩，建筑面积17.35万平方米，图书馆藏书40.88万册，教学仪器设备总值6882.93万元。设有采矿工程系、机电工程系等10个二级教学单位，开设10个专业大类28个高职专业，其中国家级重点建设专业2个（煤矿智能开采技术、机电一体化技术），省级特色及重点建设专业5个。校内建有1500米教学矿井、44个实训室及7000平方米实习工厂，形成以煤炭行业为特色，集高职教育、中职教育、成人培训于一体的多层次办学格局。

The college covers an area of 375 mu with a building area of 173,500 square meters. Its library houses 408,800 books, and the total value of teaching instruments and equipment reaches 68.8293 million yuan. It comprises 10 secondary teaching units including the Department of Mining Engineering and the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, offering 28 higher vocational majors across 10 professional categories. Among these, 2 are national key construction majors (Intelligent Coal Mining Technology, Mechatronics Technology), and 5 are provincial characteristic and key construction majors. The campus features a 1,500-meter teaching mine, 44 training rooms, and a 7,000-square-meter internship factory, forming a multi-level educational structure integrating higher vocational education, secondary vocational education, and adult training with coal industry characteristics.

现有教职工464人，专任教师266人，聘请企业技术专家139人，全日制在校生4000余人，年培训量超1.2万人次。煤矿开采技术、机电一体化技术实训基地为山西省示范性实训基地，学生在国家级、省级技能大赛中屡获佳绩，办学成果获社会广泛认可，是区域煤炭产业高素质技术技能人才培养的核心基地。

The college has 464 faculty members, including 266 full-time teachers and 139 enterprise technical experts. It enrolls over 4,000 full-time students and provides training for more than 12,000 person-times annually. The training bases for Coal Mining Technology and Mechatronics Technology are provincial demonstration training bases. Students have achieved excellent results in national and provincial skill competitions, and the college's educational achievements have been widely recognized by society, serving as a core base for cultivating high-quality technical talents for the regional coal industry.
