德州学院是教育部批准建立的一所山东省属全日制综合性普通高校，是山东省应用型本科高校建设首批支持单位和硕士学位授予单位，坐落于山东省德州市。德州市地处京津冀协同发展、黄河流域生态保护和高质量发展两项国家重大发展战略交汇区，是国家交通运输主枢纽城市，是首都一小时生活圈和省会半小时生活圈城市，素有“九达天衢”“神京门户”之称。

Dezhou University is a full-time comprehensive public university approved by the Ministry of Education, located in Dezhou City, Shandong Province. It is one of the first supported universities for applied undergraduate construction in Shandong and a master's degree-granting unit. Dezhou City, located at the intersection of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei协同发展 and the Yellow River Basin Ecological Protection and High-Quality Development strategies, is a national transportation hub city, part of the one-hour living circle of the capital and half-hour living circle of the provincial capital, known as the "thoroughfare to nine directions" and "gateway to the imperial capital".

学校始建于1971年，前身是德州师范专科学校。2000年经教育部批准更名为德州学院。2006年在全国同类院校中首批、全省同类院校中率先通过教育部本科教学工作水平评估；2009年获批山东省硕士研究生联合培养基地；2016年通过教育部本科教学工作审核评估；2017年获批山东省硕士学位授予立项建设单位；2021年获批山东省应用型本科高校建设首批支持单位；2022年成为山东省硕士学位授予精准培育单位；2024年获批硕士学位授予单位。学校先后荣获全国高等学校创业教育研究与实践先进单位、全省教育工作先进单位、省级文明校园等荣誉称号。

Founded in 1971, the university originated from Dezhou Teachers' College. It was renamed Dezhou University in 2000 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In 2006, it was among the first universities in China and the first in Shandong to pass the undergraduate teaching assessment by the Ministry of Education. It has since obtained qualifications as a joint master's training base (2009), master's degree-granting project construction unit (2017), and was approved as a master's degree-granting unit in 2024. The university has been honored with titles such as "National Advanced Unit for Entrepreneurship Education Research" and "Provincial Civilized Campus".

学校占地面积约2000亩，校舍建筑面积68.9万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值约3亿元，馆藏图书245.9万册。现设有23个二级学院，65个本科专业，面向全国22个省（市、自治区）招生。全日制本专科在校生27000余人，研究生在校生38人。现有教职工1700余人，具有博士、硕士学位教师1400余人，高级职称600余人。拥有国家高层次人才特殊支持计划、国务院政府特殊津贴专家等省级以上高层次人才47人次，建有32个省级以上科研平台。

Covering an area of approximately 2000 mu (about 1.33 square kilometers), the university has a building area of 689,000 square meters, teaching and research equipment worth about 300 million yuan, and a collection of 2.459 million paper books and 1.316 million e-books. It comprises 23 secondary colleges offering 65 undergraduate programs, enrolling students from 22 provinces. The university has over 27,000 full-time undergraduates and 38 graduate students, with a faculty of more than 1,700, including over 1,400 with doctoral or master's degrees and 600 with senior professional titles. It boasts 47 provincial-level high-level talents and 32 provincial-level or above scientific research platforms.

学校秉承“崇德启智，励志博学”的校训，发扬“艰苦奋斗，自强不息”的德院精神，以学科建设为龙头，形成了以文理为基础，工科为重点，着力打造师范教育和“健康+”等应用型专业集群的学科专业结构。现有电子信息和材料与化工两个硕士专业学位授予点，拥有国家级一流专业建设点、国家级特色专业3个，山东省特色专业、省级一流本科专业建设点等20个，为区域经济社会发展培养了20余万名优秀人才。
