华东交通大学是一所以交通为特色、轨道为核心、多学科协调发展的教学研究型大学，坐落于江西省南昌市。学校创办于1971年，原名上海交通大学机车车辆系，1972年迁至南昌，1984年更名为华东交通大学。学校是国家“中西部高校基础能力建设工程”支持高校、江西省重点加强建设高校，具有博士、硕士、学士学位授予权。

East China Jiaotong University is a teaching and research-oriented university with transportation as its特色, railways as its core, and multidisciplinary coordinated development, located in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. Founded in 1971 as the Locomotive and Rolling Stock Department of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, it moved to Nanchang in 1972 and was renamed East China Jiaotong University in 1984. It is supported by the "Midwest University Basic Capacity Building Project" and a key university in Jiangxi Province, with the right to grant doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees.

学校现有20个学院，60余个本科专业，涵盖工、经、管、文、理、法、教育、艺术等学科门类。在长期办学过程中，形成了以轨道交通为特色的学科专业体系，土木工程、交通运输工程、机械工程等学科实力雄厚，其中轨道交通工程学科群入选江西省一流学科高峰优势学科。学校拥有多个国家级一流本科专业建设点、国家级特色专业，以及国家级实验教学示范中心、虚拟仿真实验教学中心等教学平台。

The university currently has 20 colleges and more than 60 undergraduate majors, covering engineering, economics, management, literature, science, law, education, art and other disciplines. In the long-term school-running process, it has formed a discipline and professional system featuring rail transit. Disciplines such as civil engineering, transportation engineering, and mechanical engineering are strong, among which the rail transit engineering discipline group was selected into the peak advantage discipline of Jiangxi Province's first-class disciplines. The university has a number of national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, national characteristic majors, as well as national experimental teaching demonstration centers, virtual simulation experimental teaching centers and other teaching platforms.

学校坚持立德树人根本任务，注重培养学生的创新精神和实践能力，积极推进产教融合、科教融汇。近年来，学生在全国大学生数学建模竞赛、机器人竞赛、工程训练综合能力竞赛等各类学科竞赛中屡获佳绩。学校与国内外多所高校、科研院所及企业建立了广泛的合作关系，在人才培养、科学研究、社会服务等方面取得了显著成就，为国家和地方交通运输事业及经济社会发展作出了重要贡献。
