东华理工大学是中国一所具有鲜明地学和核科学特色，以理工为主，经、管、文、法、教、艺等多学科协调发展的多科性大学。学校创办于1956年，前身为太谷地质学校，历经多次调整与更名，2007年正式更名为东华理工大学。学校是教育部“卓越工程师教育培养计划”实施高校、中西部高校基础能力建设工程支持高校，拥有博士学位授予权。

East China University of Technology is a multidisciplinary university in China with distinctive features in geosciences and nuclear science. It focuses on science and engineering, while coordinatedly developing disciplines such as economics, management, liberal arts, law, education, and art. Founded in 1956, the university was formerly known as Taigu Geological School. After several adjustments and name changes, it was officially renamed East China University of Technology in 2007. It is an implementing university of the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, a supported university of the "Midwest University Basic Capacity Building Project", and has the right to grant doctoral degrees.

学校现有南昌、抚州两个校区，校园总面积2500余亩，校舍建筑面积100余万平方米。学校师资力量雄厚，现有教职工2000余人，其中专任教师1500余人，具有高级职称教师800余人，博士生导师、硕士生导师600余人。学校坚持以人才培养为中心，注重学生创新能力和实践能力的培养，已为国家培养输送了各类人才20余万人。

The university currently has two campuses in Nanchang and Fuzhou, covering a total area of more than 2,500 mu, with a building area of more than 1 million square meters. It has a strong faculty, with more than 2,000 faculty members, including more than 1,500 full-time teachers, more than 800 teachers with senior titles, and more than 600 doctoral and master supervisors. Adhering to talent cultivation as the center, the university focuses on cultivating students' innovative and practical abilities, and has trained and transported more than 200,000 various talents for the country.
