福建医科大学创建于1937年，前身为福建省立医学专科学校，是福建省重点建设高校、福建省“双一流”建设高校。学校以医学为主体，医、理、管、法、文等多学科协调发展，拥有完整的人才培养体系，涵盖本科、硕士、博士层次。

Fujian Medical University was founded in 1937, formerly known as Fujian Provincial Medical College. It is a key university in Fujian Province and a "Double First-Class" construction university in Fujian. With medicine as its main discipline, the university develops coordinately in multiple disciplines such as medicine, science, management, law, and literature, and has a complete talent training system covering undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels.

学校现有上街、台江2个校区，占地面积约1500亩，教学科研仪器设备总值超15亿元。设有21个学院（部），30个本科专业，拥有6所直属附属医院、14所非直属附属医院，形成了“医教协同、产学研结合”的办学特色。

The university currently has two campuses in Shangjie and Taijiang, covering an area of approximately 1500 mu, with a total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment exceeding 1.5 billion yuan. It has 21 colleges (departments), 30 undergraduate majors, 6 directly affiliated hospitals, and 14 non-directly affiliated hospitals, forming a school-running characteristic of "medical-education collaboration and integration of production, education and research".
