福建师范大学坐落于素有“海滨邹鲁”之称的历史文化名城福州，是一所历史悠久、声誉斐然的百年省属重点高校。学校肇始于1907年由清朝帝师陈宝琛创办的福建优级师范学堂，后由华南女子文理学院、福建协和大学、福建省立师范专科学校等单位几经调整合并，于1953年成立福建师范学院，1972年易名为福建师范大学并沿用至今。作为福建省“双一流”建设高校、省重点建设高水平大学，学校始终坚持立德树人根本任务，以培养德智体美劳全面发展的社会主义建设者和接班人为己任，在长期办学实践中形成了“知明行笃，立诚致广”的校训精神和鲜明的办学特色。

Fujian Normal University is located in Fuzhou, a famous historical and cultural city known as the "Coastal Zou and Lu". It is a century-old key provincial university with a long history and outstanding reputation. The university originated from Fujian Superior Normal School founded by Chen Baochen, the imperial teacher of the Qing Dynasty, in 1907. Later, it was adjusted and merged several times by institutions such as Hwa Nan College, Fukien Christian University, and Fujian Provincial Normal College. It was established as Fujian Normal College in 1953 and renamed Fujian Normal University in 1972, which has been used ever since. As a "Double First-Class" construction university and a key high-level university in Fujian Province, the university has always adhered to the fundamental task of cultivating virtues and talents, and takes it as its responsibility to cultivate socialist builders and successors with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor. In the long-term school-running practice, it has formed the school motto spirit of "Knowledgeable and Earnest in Action, Sincere and Broad-minded" and distinct school-running characteristics.

学校学科门类齐全，办学实力雄厚，现有本科专业84个，涵盖文、史、哲、理、工、教、经、法、管、农、艺等11个学科门类。拥有国家重点学科1个、省高峰学科9个、高原学科13个，化学、材料科学、工程学、计算机科学、环境科学与生态学等5个学科进入ESI全球前1%。学校师资队伍结构合理，现有专任教师2000余人，其中中国科学院、工程院院士（含双聘）10人，国家级人才计划入选者100余人次，省级高层次人才300余人次。近年来，学校在人才培养、科学研究、社会服务、文化传承创新和国际交流合作等方面取得了丰硕成果，先后荣获国家级教学成果奖18项、全国创新创业典型经验高校50强等荣誉称号，为国家和地方经济社会发展作出了重要贡献。

The university has a complete range of disciplines and strong school-running strength. It currently has 84 undergraduate majors, covering 11 disciplines including literature, history, philosophy, science, engineering, education, economics, law, management, agriculture, and art. It has 1 national key discipline, 9 provincial peak disciplines, and 13 plateau disciplines. Five disciplines including chemistry, materials science, engineering, computer science, environment/ecology have entered the top 1% of ESI globally. The university has a well-structured faculty, with more than 2,000 full-time teachers, including 10 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering (including double-employed), more than 100 people selected into national talent programs, and more than 300 provincial high-level talents. In recent years, the university has achieved fruitful results in talent training, scientific research, social service, cultural inheritance and innovation, and international exchanges and cooperation. It has successively won 18 national teaching achievement awards and been listed as one of the top 50 universities with typical experience in innovation and entrepreneurship in China. It has made important contributions to the economic and social development of the country and the region.
