广州美术学院是华南地区唯一一所高等美术学府，创办于1953年，前身为中南美术专科学校，1958年正式更名为广州美术学院。学校坐落于广州市，拥有昌岗、大学城两个校区，致力于培养德、智、体、美、劳全面发展的高素质艺术人才，在美术学、设计学、艺术学理论等学科领域具有深厚的学术积淀和鲜明的办学特色。

Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts is the only higher art institution in South China. Founded in 1953, its predecessor was the Central South College of Fine Arts, and it was officially renamed Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1958. Located in Guangzhou, the university has two campuses: Changgang and University Town. It is committed to cultivating high-quality artistic talents with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor, and has profound academic accumulation and distinctive school-running characteristics in the fields of fine arts, design, and art theory.

学校学科优势突出，美术学、设计学为广东省重点学科，其中美术学入选国家“双一流”建设学科。现有中国画学院、造型艺术学院、绘画艺术学院、雕塑与公共艺术学院、跨媒体艺术学院、设计学院、建筑艺术设计学院、工业设计学院等12个二级学院，开设绘画、雕塑、视觉传达设计、环境设计、产品设计等31个本科专业，形成了覆盖造型艺术、设计艺术、建筑艺术等领域的完整学科体系。

The university has prominent disciplinary advantages. Fine Arts and Design are key disciplines in Guangdong Province, among which Fine Arts has been selected into the national "Double First-Class" construction disciplines. Currently, it has 12 secondary colleges including the School of Chinese Painting, the School of Plastic Arts, the School of Painting Art, the School of Sculpture and Public Art, the School of Intermedia Art, the School of Design, the School of Architectural Art and Design, and the School of Industrial Design. It offers 31 undergraduate majors such as painting, sculpture, visual communication design, environmental design, and product design, forming a complete disciplinary system covering the fields of plastic arts, design arts, and architectural arts.
