甘肃政法大学是一所以法学学科为特色和优势，兼有管理学、工学、文学、经济学、艺术学等学科的甘肃省省属政法类普通本科院校，是全国最早建立的省属本科政法院校。学校是国家首批卓越法律人才教育培养基地院校、首批涉外法治人才协同培养创新基地（培育）院校、第二批高校实践育人创新创业教育基地院校、全国政法院校立格联盟成员、全国法学教育创新联盟成员、甘肃高校法学教育联盟会长单位。

Gansu University of Political Science and Law is a provincial public undergraduate university in Gansu Province with law as its特色 and advantage, also encompassing disciplines such as management, engineering, literature, economics, and art. It is one of the earliest established provincial undergraduate political and legal colleges in China. The university is a national first-batch education and training base for outstanding legal talents, a first-batch collaborative training innovation base (cultivation) for foreign-related rule of law talents, a second-batch university practice-oriented innovation and entrepreneurship education base, a member of the National Political and Legal University Lige Alliance, a member of the National Legal Education Innovation Alliance, and the chair unit of the Gansu University Legal Education Alliance.

学校前身是1956年创建的甘肃省政法干部学校，历经发展，于1984年正式成立甘肃政法学院，2019年6月更名为甘肃政法大学，2024年取得博士学位授予单位资格，获批法学一级学科博士授权点。学校现有兰州市安宁西路校区和兰州新区校区2个校区，校园占地面积共1066.59亩，设有15个学院，41个本科专业，5个一级学科硕士学位授权点，10个专业硕士学位授权点，全日制在校生15236人。

The predecessor of the university was the Gansu Provincial Political and Legal Cadre School founded in 1956. After development, it was formally established as Gansu Institute of Political Science and Law in 1984, renamed Gansu University of Political Science and Law in June 2019, and obtained the qualification of a doctoral degree-granting unit in 2024, with the approval of a first-level discipline doctoral program in law. The university currently has two campuses: Anning West Road Campus in Lanzhou and Lanzhou New Area Campus, covering a total area of 1066.59 mu. It has 15 colleges, 41 undergraduate majors, 5 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, 10 professional master's degree authorization points, and 15,236 full-time students.
