广东第二师范学院是广东省属普通本科院校，前身为1955年创办的广东教育行政学院，历经广东教育学院等发展阶段，2010年经教育部批准改制为普通本科院校并更为现名。学校以教师教育为特色，聚焦基础教育，秉持“因基础教育而生、应基础教育而兴、为基础教育而谋”的办学理念，培养人格健全、专业扎实的应用型人才。

Guangdong University of Education is a public undergraduate institution under the Guangdong Provincial Government. Its predecessor, Guangdong Institute of Educational Administration founded in 1955, evolved through stages such as Guangdong Institute of Education before being renamed to its current title in 2010 upon approval by the Ministry of Education to transform into a general undergraduate university. With teacher education as its distinctive feature and a focus on basic education, the university adheres to the educational philosophy of "born for basic education, thriving with basic education, and striving for basic education," cultivating application-oriented talents with sound character and solid professional foundation.

学校现有海珠、花都两个校区，总占地面积50余万平方米，校舍建筑面积43万余平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值1.69亿元，馆藏纸质图书144万余册。设有19个教学院系和22个研究机构，开设45个本科专业，涵盖教育学、文学、理学等9大学科门类，全日制本科在校生15932人，成人在校生4万余人。

The university has two campuses in Haizhu and Huadu, covering a total area of over 500,000 square meters with a building area of more than 430,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research equipment stands at 169 million yuan, and the library houses over 1.44 million printed books. It comprises 19 teaching departments and 22 research institutions, offering 45 undergraduate programs spanning 9 disciplines including Education, Literature, and Science. The university has 15,932 full-time undergraduate students and over 40,000 adult students.

学校师资力量雄厚，现有专任教师928人，其中高级职称216人，博士、硕士学位812人。拥有国家级一流本科专业建设点2个，省级一流本科专业建设点5个，获批硕士学位立项建设单位，入选教育部人工智能助推教师队伍建设试点高校，在教师教育领域形成鲜明特色与优势。

Boasting a strong faculty, the university has 928 full-time teachers, including 216 with senior professional titles and 812 holding doctoral or master's degrees. It has 2 national-level first-class undergraduate program construction sites and 5 provincial-level ones. Recognized as a master's degree program construction unit and selected into the second batch of pilot universities for AI-driven teacher team development by the Ministry of Education, it has formed distinct characteristics and advantages in teacher education.
