广东石油化工学院是广东省人民政府与中国石油化工集团公司、中国石油天然气集团公司、中国海洋石油集团有限公司共建的公办普通本科高校，华南地区唯一一所石油化工特色高校，教育部卓越工程师教育培养计划试点高校，广东省高水平理工科大学建设高校，硕士学位授予单位。学校1954年创校，秉承“崇德、博学、求实、创新”校训，坚持“因油而生、为油奉献”办学理念，弘扬艰苦奋斗、求实献身的学校精神和“听党召唤、为国奉献；艰苦创业、忠诚担当”的广油西迁精神，为石油石化行业及地方经济社会发展培养了大批应用型人才。

Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology is a public undergraduate university co-built by the People's Government of Guangdong Province, China Petrochemical Corporation, China National Petroleum Corporation, and China National Offshore Oil Corporation. It is the only university with petroleum and chemical characteristics in South China, a pilot university of the Ministry of Education's Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, a high-level理工科 university construction university in Guangdong Province, and a master's degree-granting unit. Founded in 1954, the university adheres to the school motto of "Virtue, Erudition, Truth-seeking, Innovation" and the educational philosophy of "Born for Oil, Dedicated to Oil". It promotes the school spirit of "Hard Work, Truth-seeking and Dedication" and the "Guangyou Westward Relocation Spirit" of "Responding to the Party's Call, Devoting to the Country; Working Hard, Being Loyal and Responsible", and has cultivated a large number of applied talents for the petroleum and petrochemical industry and local economic and social development.

学校地处广东省茂名市，占地面积约2047亩，分官渡、西城、光华三个校区。面向全国28个省（市、区）招生，拥有8门国家级一流课程、27门省级一流本科课程，3个国家级工程实践教育中心。现有全日制本科生、硕士研究生及联合培养博士生等各类在校生，专任教师中具有正、副高职称人员505人，博士、硕士学位人员1292人。工程科学、化学、环境/生态学3个学科跻身ESI全球排名前1%，3个国家级一流本科专业，11个专业通过工程教育专业认证，是石油石化行业人才培养的重要基地。

The university is located in Maoming City, Guangdong Province, covering an area of about 2047 mu, with three campuses: Guandu, Xicheng, and Guanghua. It enrolls students from 28 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) across the country, and has 8 national first-class courses, 27 provincial first-class undergraduate courses, and 3 national engineering practice education centers. Currently, there are various students including full-time undergraduates, postgraduates, and jointly trained doctoral students. Among the full-time teachers, 505 have senior professional titles, and 1292 have doctoral or master's degrees. Three disciplines (Engineering, Chemistry, Environment/Ecology) have entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings. It has 3 national first-class undergraduate majors and 11 majors accredited by engineering education, making it an important base for talent cultivation in the petroleum and petrochemical industry.
