广东文艺职业学院是一所具有光荣历史传统和深厚文化积淀的公办综合性艺术类高等院校，始建于1950年，前身是由毛泽东主席题写校名、叶剑英元帅亲自创办的华南人民文学艺术学院。学校历经华南文艺业余大学、华南文艺成人学院等发展阶段，2004年转制为全日制普通高职院校并更现名，2019年成建制移交广东省教育厅管理，2022年与广东省旅游职业技术学校开展集团办学，现为全国文联系统唯一高职院校、广东建设文化大省九大文化工程之一。

Guangdong Literary & Art Vocational College is a public comprehensive art higher vocational college with a glorious historical tradition and profound cultural heritage. Founded in 1950, its predecessor was South China People's College of Literature and Art, whose name was inscribed by Chairman Mao Zedong and personally founded by Marshal Ye Jianying. After going through stages of development such as South China Amateur College of Literature and Art and South China Adult College of Literature and Art, the school was transformed into a full-time ordinary higher vocational college and renamed to its current name in 2004. In 2019, it was transferred to the management of Guangdong Provincial Department of Education as a whole, and in 2022, it launched group-run education with Guangdong Tourism Vocational and Technical School. It is now the only higher vocational college in the national literary and art union system and one of the nine cultural projects for building Guangdong into a cultural province.

学校秉承“砺志、创新、明德、尚美”校训，现有番禺、白云两个校区，占地300亩，设有12个教学机构，开设39个高职专业，打造音乐传播、工艺美术品设计等5个专业群，拥有全国职业教育旅游类专业示范点1个、省级高水平专业群3个。教职工600人，培育国家教育教学成果奖二等奖1项，获全国教育系统先进集体等荣誉，是广东省高等职业院校文化表演类专业教学指导委员会主任单位，致力于培养服务粤港澳大湾区文旅产业的高素质艺术技术技能人才。

Adhering to the school motto of "Strengthening Will, Innovating, Cultivating Virtue, and Pursuing Beauty", the college has two campuses in Panyu and Baiyun, covering an area of 300 mu. It has 12 teaching institutions, offering 39 higher vocational majors, and has built 5 professional groups such as Music Communication and Arts and Crafts Design. It has 1 national vocational education tourism professional demonstration site and 3 provincial high-level professional groups. With 600 faculty members, it has cultivated 1 second prize of National Education and Teaching Achievement Award, and won honors such as Advanced Collective of National Education System. It is the director unit of the Teaching Steering Committee for Cultural Performance Majors in Guangdong Higher Vocational Colleges, dedicated to cultivating high-quality artistic technical talents serving the cultural tourism industry of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
