广西科技师范学院（简称广西科师）的前身为创办于1958年的宜山师范专科学校，1959年与柳州市师范专科学校合并后改名为柳州师范专科学校，1960年从宜山搬迁到柳州办学。1971年在柳州民族农业技术学校基础上组建柳州地区师范学校，1982年在校内设柳州地区教师进修学院，1984年升格为柳州地区师范专科学校（后改为柳州师范专科学校），1994年更名为柳州师范高等专科学校。2012年开始在来宾办学，2015年升格为本科层次的广西科技师范学院。2021年学校管理体制由区市共建、以市为主调整为自治区人民政府举办，行政主管部门调整为自治区教育厅。2025年获批2026—2030年广西立项建设新增硕士学位授予单位。

Guangxi Science & Technology Normal University (hereinafter referred to as Guangxi STNU) originated from Yishan Normal Junior College founded in 1958. In 1959, it merged with Liuzhou Normal Junior College and was renamed Liuzhou Normal Junior College, moving from Yishan to Liuzhou for running school in 1960. In 1971, Liuzhou Prefectural Normal School was established on the basis of Liuzhou Ethnic Agricultural Technology School. In 1982, Liuzhou Prefectural Teachers' Training College was set up within the school. In 1984, it was upgraded to Liuzhou Prefectural Normal College (later renamed Liuzhou Normal College), and renamed Liuzhou Teachers College in 1994. It began to run school in Laibin in 2012 and was upgraded to Guangxi Science & Technology Normal University at the undergraduate level in 2015. In 2021, the school's management system was adjusted from being co-constructed by the autonomous region and the city with the city as the main body to being run by the People's Government of the Autonomous Region, and the administrative department was adjusted to the Education Department of the Autonomous Region. In 2025, it was approved as a new master's degree-granting unit in Guangxi for the period 2026 - 2030.

人才培养按照应用型人才培养要求，学校紧密对接桂中基础教育、职业教育及地方蔗糖、电力、汽车等产业发展需要，设置学前教育、汽车服务工程、食品科学与工程等38个本科招生专业，形成了以教育学、工学为主，文学、理学、管理学、法学、艺术学等多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。设有20个二级教学机构、7个科研机构，现有全日制在校生19400余名。现有国家级一流本科专业建设点1个、省级一流本科专业建设点8个、省级示范性现代产业学院1个、省级一流本科课程15门、省级课程思政示范课程6门。升本以来，学校获国家级教学成果奖二等奖1项、省级教学成果奖27项（其中一等奖12项）。

In accordance with the requirements of applied talent cultivation, the university closely meets the development needs of basic education, vocational education and local industries such as sugarcane, electric power and automobile in central Guangxi, offering 38 undergraduate enrollment majors including Preschool Education, Automobile Service Engineering, Food Science and Engineering, etc., forming a discipline and professional system with education and engineering as the main subjects, and coordinated development of literature, science, management, law, art and other disciplines. It has 20 secondary teaching institutions and 7 scientific research institutions, with more than 19,400 full-time students. Currently, there is 1 national first-class undergraduate major construction site, 8 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 1 provincial demonstration modern industrial college, 15 provincial first-class undergraduate courses, and 6 provincial curriculum ideological and political demonstration courses. Since being upgraded to an undergraduate university, the university has won 1 second prize of National Teaching Achievement Award and 27 provincial teaching achievement awards (including 12 first prizes).

科学研究方面，学校有省级重点实验室、广西教育科学重点研究基地，省级工程技术研究中心、技术转移示范机构、科普基地、文艺评论基地等省级科研平台7个；获国家社会科学基金、国家自然科学基金等国家级项目8项，广西哲社、广西科技计划项目等省部级项目共58项，市厅级科研项目立项702项。获省级科研成果奖6项，获专利（含软著）授权653项，其中发明专利71项。《广西科技师范学院学报》多次被评为全国、全区优秀社科期刊。

In terms of scientific research, the university has 7 provincial-level scientific research platforms including provincial key laboratories, Guangxi Key Research Base for Educational Sciences, provincial engineering technology research centers, technology transfer demonstration institutions, science popularization bases, and literary and artistic criticism bases. It has obtained 8 national-level projects such as the National Social Science Fund and the National Natural Science Fund, 58 provincial-level projects such as Guangxi Philosophy and Social Sciences and Guangxi Science and Technology Plan Projects, and 702 municipal and departmental-level scientific research projects. It has won 6 provincial scientific research achievement awards and 653 patents (including software copyrights) authorized, among which 71 are invention patents. Journal of Guangxi Science & Technology Normal University has been repeatedly rated as an excellent social science journal in the country and the region.

师资队伍现有教职工1169人，其中，高级职称教师261人；具有硕士学位及以上教师597人。近年来，学校从中小学、企业引进教学能手、高技能人才共78人。教师中有全国人大代表、自治区人大代表，国家通用语言文字推广普及先进个人、港珠澳大桥施工高级技术专家、自治区模范教师、广西教学名师、广西优秀教师、广西最美高校辅导员、自治区优秀教育工作者。教师获省级及以上各类教学奖励138项。

The faculty consists of 1,169 staff, including 261 teachers with senior professional titles and 597 teachers with master's degree or above. In recent years, the university has introduced 78 teaching experts and high-skilled talents from primary and secondary schools and enterprises. Among the teachers, there are deputies to the National People's Congress and the Autonomous Region People's Congress, advanced individuals in the promotion and popularization of national standard spoken and written Chinese, senior technical experts in the construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, model teachers of the Autonomous Region, Guangxi teaching masters, excellent teachers of Guangxi, the most beautiful college counselors of Guangxi, and excellent educators of the Autonomous Region. Teachers have won 138 teaching awards at or above the provincial level.

办学条件方面，校园现有面积1617.1亩，其中来宾校区1010.1亩，柳州校区607亩。学校总建筑面积51.29万平方米，教学科研行政用房面积24.05万平方米；教学科研仪器设备总值2.22亿元；建有校内外省级实验实践基地40个。

In terms of school-running conditions, the campus currently covers an area of 1,617.1 mu, including 1,010.1 mu for the Laibin campus and 607 mu for the Liuzhou campus. The total building area of the university is 512,900 square meters, with 240,500 square meters for teaching, scientific research and administrative use. The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 222 million yuan. There are 40 provincial-level experimental and practical bases inside and outside the university.
