广西中医药大学前身为1934年成立的广西省立南宁区医药研究所，1956年恢复办学，历经广西中医专科学校、广西中医学院等发展阶段，2012年更名为广西中医药大学，是国家中西部基础能力建设高校及国家中医药管理局与广西壮族自治区共建高校。学校以中医药学科为主，医、理、工、管等多学科协调发展，具有鲜明中医药、民族医药特色，总占地面积1300多亩，设有16个学院，3个直属公共教学部，15所附属医院（其中直属3所），全日制在校生17000多人。

Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine traces its roots to the Guangxi Provincial Nanning District Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy founded in 1934. It resumed operations in 1956 and underwent several developmental stages, including Guangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2012, it was renamed Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine. As a national university for midwestern China's basic capacity building and a joint university by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, it focuses on TCM disciplines with coordinated development of medicine, science, engineering, and management. Covering over 1,300 mu, it has 16 colleges, 3直属公共教学部, 15 affiliated hospitals (3 directly affiliated), and over 17,000 full-time students.

学校是博士学位授予单位，拥有博士学位授权一级学科1个、硕士学位授权一级学科6个，国家临床重点专科11个，国家中医药管理局中医药重点学科15个。临床医学学科进入ESI全球前1%，形成了以中医药、壮瑶医药为特色的学科体系。现有专任教师1144人，其中博士生导师81人、硕士生导师856人，拥有国家级人才项目获得者58人次。近五年获国家级教学成果奖1项，自治区级教学成果奖25项，毕业生就业率连续15年荣获广西普通高校就业工作突出单位称号。

The university is a doctoral degree-granting institution with 1 first-level discipline for doctoral degree authorization, 6 first-level disciplines for master's degree authorization, 11 national key clinical specialties, and 15 key disciplines of traditional Chinese medicine approved by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Its Clinical Medicine discipline has entered the top 1% of ESI globally, forming a disciplinary system featuring traditional Chinese medicine and Zhuang-Yao ethnic medicine. It has 1,144 full-time teachers, including 81 doctoral supervisors and 856 master supervisors, with 58 recipients of national talent programs. In the past five years, it has won 1 national teaching achievement award and 25 provincial-level teaching achievement awards, and has been honored as an outstanding unit for graduate employment in Guangxi universities for 15 consecutive years.

学校注重科研创新与国际交流，设有广西中医药科学实验中心等多个国家级、省部级科研平台，牵头申报广西中药民族药产业科技专项，推动中医药壮瑶医药研究成果转化。作为中国-东盟传统医药交流合作中心，积极开展与东盟国家的中医药教育、医疗合作，成为区域中医药国际交流的重要窗口。

The university emphasizes scientific research innovation and international exchanges, housing multiple national and provincial-level research platforms such as the Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine Science Experiment Center. It leads the application of Guangxi's traditional Chinese medicine and ethnic medicine industry technology projects to promote the transformation of research achievements in traditional Chinese medicine and Zhuang-Yao medicine. As the China-ASEAN Traditional Medicine Exchange and Cooperation Center, it actively conducts TCM education and medical cooperation with ASEAN countries, serving as an important window for regional international exchanges in traditional Chinese medicine.
