广州软件学院成立于2002年，2006年开始实施本科层次的学历教育，前身为广州大学华软软件学院。2020年12月，经教育部批准，广东省人民政府同意，转设更名为广州软件学院。学校地处广州中新知识城北延区域的从化经济开发区高技术产业园内，广州地铁14号线太平站就在校门口，交通便利。

Guangzhou College of Software Technology was founded in 2002 and began offering undergraduate education in 2006, formerly known as South China Institute of Software Engineering, Guangzhou University. In December 2020, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the consent of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, it was renamed Guangzhou College of Software Technology. The university is located in the High-tech Industrial Park of Conghua Economic Development Zone, the northern extension area of Guangzhou-Zhongshan Knowledge City, with Guangzhou Metro Line 14 Taiping Station right at the school gate, providing convenient transportation.

学校是国家级创新创业教育实践基地、国家科学技术部备案众创空间、广东省创新创业教育实践基地、广东省大学生创新创业教育示范学校、广东省和广州市两级国际服务外包人才培训机构、广东省博士工作站。设有软件与人工智能学院、网络空间安全学院等9个学院，开设32个本科专业，涵盖工学、艺术学、管理学、经济学、文学等5大学科门类，形成以信息技术类专业为主体，多学科协调发展的布局。

The university is a National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Practice Base, a Maker Space registered with the Ministry of Science and Technology, a Guangdong Provincial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Practice Base, a Guangdong Provincial Demonstration School for College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, a two-level (provincial and municipal) international service outsourcing talent training institution in Guangdong and Guangzhou, and a Guangdong Provincial Doctoral Workstation. It has 9 colleges including the School of Software and Artificial Intelligence and the School of Cyberspace Security, offering 32 undergraduate programs covering 5 disciplines: Engineering, Arts, Management, Economics, and Literature, forming a layout with information technology-related majors as the main body and coordinated development of multiple disciplines.

学校秉承“质量立校、特色强校”的发展思路，对接软件与信息技术产业需求，与华为、奇安信、中软国际等知名企业建立紧密校企合作关系，共建产业学院和特色班级，着力培养适应信息技术产业发展需要的创新型、应用型人才。现有在校生16000多人，教职工约980人，经过20多年的建设发展，已成为信息技术特色鲜明的应用型本科高校。

Adhering to the development philosophy of "Establishing the university with quality, strengthening the university with characteristics", the university aligns with the needs of the software and information technology industry, and has established close school-enterprise cooperation with well-known enterprises such as Huawei, Qi An Xin, and Neusoft Group, jointly building industrial colleges and characteristic classes to focus on cultivating innovative and application-oriented talents needed for the development of the information technology industry. Currently, it has over 16,000 students and approximately 980 faculty members. After more than 20 years of development, it has become an application-oriented university with distinctive characteristics in information technology.
