广州大学是以国家重要中心城市“广州”命名的综合性大学，于2000年合并组建，有着90多年的办学传统。学校是广东省高水平大学建设计划重点建设高校、广州市高水平大学建设高校，现有大学城、桂花岗、黄埔三个校区，在校全日制本科生29623人，硕士和博士研究生9521人。

Guangzhou University is a comprehensive university named after Guangzhou, a national key central city. It was merged and established in 2000 with a办学 tradition of over 90 years. It is a key university in the construction plan of high-level universities in Guangdong Province and a high-level university in Guangzhou. Currently, it has three campuses: University Town, Guihuagang, and Huangpu, with 29,623 full-time undergraduate students and 9,521 master's and doctoral students.

学校学科门类齐全，涵盖哲学、经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、管理学、艺术学、交叉学科等十一大学科门类，设有26个专业学院。现有14个一级学科博士授权点和博士专业学位授权点，8个博士后科研流动站，34个学术型硕士学位授权点，30个硕士专业学位授权点。工程学、计算机科学、化学等12个学科进入ESI全球前1%，其中工程学进入全球前1‰。

The university has a complete range of disciplines, covering 11 disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management, art, and interdisciplinary studies, with 26 professional colleges. It currently has 14 first-level discipline doctoral programs and doctoral professional degree programs, 8 post-doctoral research stations, 34 academic master's degree programs, and 30 master's professional degree programs. Twelve disciplines including Engineering, Computer Science, and Chemistry have entered the top 1% of ESI globally, among which Engineering has entered the top 1‰ globally.
