河南中医药大学创建于1958年，是全国建校较早的高等中医药院校之一，前身是1955年在开封创办的河南省中医进修学校。学校位于省会郑州，现有4个校区，分别为龙子湖校区、东明路校区、人民路校区、东风路校区，占地面积1594.94亩，建筑面积62.34万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值4.97亿元。作为河南省人民政府和国家中医药管理局共建高校、国家中西部高等教育振兴计划高校，学校是河南省中医药人才培养、科学研究、社会服务、文化传承与创新、国际交流与合作的龙头和中心。

Henan University of Chinese Medicine was founded in 1958 and is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning for Chinese medicine in China. Its predecessor was the Henan Provincial Chinese Medicine Training School founded in Kaifeng in 1955. Located in Zhengzhou, the capital city, the university has 4 campuses, namely Longzihu Campus, Dongming Road Campus, Renmin Road Campus and Dongfeng Road Campus, covering an area of 1594.94 mu with a building area of 623,400 square meters and a total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment of 497 million yuan. As a university jointly built by the People's Government of Henan Province and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a university under the National Plan for Revitalizing Higher Education in Central and Western China, it is the leader and center for talent cultivation, scientific research, social services, cultural inheritance and innovation, and international exchanges and cooperation of traditional Chinese medicine in Henan Province.

学校学科实力雄厚，现有国家中医药管理局高水平中医药重点学科11个，河南省“双一流”创建学科1个，河南省特色骨干学科3个，新一轮河南省重点学科13个。在人才培养方面，学校大力实施人才兴校战略，打造了一支实力雄厚的人才队伍，现有教职工1697人，专任教师1574人，其中博士生导师177人，硕士生导师793人。截至2025年2月，学校有普通全日制在校生26432人，其中本专科生22426人，统招在校硕士研究生3662人，博士研究生273人，留学生71人。

The university has strong disciplinary strength, with 11 key disciplines of high-level Chinese medicine approved by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 1 "Double First-Class" construction discipline in Henan Province, 3 characteristic key disciplines in Henan Province, and 13 key disciplines in the new round of Henan Province. In terms of talent cultivation, the university vigorously implements the strategy of rejuvenating the university with talents and has built a strong talent team. There are 1697 faculty members, including 1574 full-time teachers, 177 doctoral supervisors and 793 master supervisors. As of February 2025, the university has 26,432 full-time students, including 22,426 undergraduates and college students, 3,662 full-time master's students, 273 doctoral students and 71 international students.

学校设有基础医学院、药学院、第一临床医学院、第二临床医学院、骨伤学院、针灸推拿学院等18个院（部、中心），专业设置涵盖医、理、管、工、文等多个学科领域。近年来，学校积极响应国家战略，推动中医药与信息技术深度融合，在智慧医疗等新兴领域开展校校合作与人才培养，致力于培养符合新时代健康中国建设需求的高素质中医药人才。

The university has 18 colleges (departments and centers) including the School of Basic Medicine, School of Pharmacy, First Clinical Medical College, Second Clinical Medical College, Orthopedics College, and College of Acupuncture and Tuina. The majors cover multiple disciplines such as medicine, science, management, engineering and liberal arts. In recent years, in response to national strategies, the university has promoted the in-depth integration of traditional Chinese medicine and information technology, carried out university-university cooperation and talent training in emerging fields such as smart healthcare, and is committed to cultivating high-quality traditional Chinese medicine talents to meet the needs of building a Healthy China in the new era.
