海南职业技术学院创办于2000年，是海南省第一所独立设置的公办高职院校，隶属海南省人民政府。学校坐落于海口市龙华区南海大道95号，秉持“兴琼富岛、育人惠民”的办学宗旨，2008年被教育部、财政部确立为“国家示范性高等职业院校”建设计划立项单位，2011年通过验收，成为国家示范性高职院校。学校面向海南重点产业开设38个专业，形成了3个国家示范校重点建设专业、2个中央财政支持提升专业服务产业发展能力项目专业、3个教育部现代学徒制试点专业等特色专业群，拥有16个中央财政支持建设的国家示范实训基地及多门国家级、省级精品课程。

Hainan Vocational and Technical College was founded in 2000 and is the first independently established public higher vocational college in Hainan Province, affiliated to the People's Government of Hainan Province. Located at No. 95 Nanhai Avenue, Longhua District, Haikou City, the college adheres to the school-running purpose of "Prospering Hainan and Enriching the Island, Educating People and Benefiting the People". In 2008, it was established by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as a project unit of the "National Demonstrative Higher Vocational Colleges" construction plan, and passed the acceptance in 2011, becoming a national demonstrative higher vocational college. The college offers 38 majors focusing on key industries in Hainan, forming characteristic professional groups such as 3 key construction majors of national demonstration schools, 2 projects supported by the central finance to enhance the ability of majors to serve industrial development, and 3 modern apprenticeship pilot majors of the Ministry of Education. It has 16 national demonstration training bases supported by the central finance and many national and provincial excellent courses.

学校坚持“动脑动手、尚德尚技”的育人理念，现有专任教师600余人，其中高级职称教师200余人，“双师型”教师占比超过60%。办学以来，为社会培养输送了6万余名毕业生，近五年毕业生就业率稳定在95%以上，用人单位满意度达90%。学校积极推进国际化办学，2018年在尼泊尔设立分校，是海南省第一所在境外设立分校的高职院校，同时与法国、加拿大等20多个国家的高校开展合作交流。

Adhering to the educational philosophy of "Using Brain and Hands, Advocating Morality and Skills", the college has more than 600 full-time teachers, including over 200 with senior professional titles, and "double-qualified" teachers account for more than 60%. Since its establishment, it has cultivated and transported more than 60,000 graduates to the society. In the past five years, the employment rate of graduates has stabilized above 95%, and the satisfaction rate of employers has reached 90%. The college actively promotes international education. In 2018, it established a branch in Nepal, becoming the first higher vocational college in Hainan Province to set up a branch overseas. At the same time, it carries out cooperation and exchanges with universities in more than 20 countries such as France and Canada.

学校先后荣获“全国黄炎培优秀学校奖”“全国职业教育先进集体”等荣誉称号，连续三年进入全国高职院校国际影响力50强，是教育部职业院校校长培训培育基地、国家高技能人才培训基地，目前正朝着建设“国内一流、国际知名的中国特色高水平职业院校”目标奋进。

The college has successively won honorary titles such as "National Huang Yanpei Excellent School Award" and "National Advanced Collective in Vocational Education". It has entered the top 50 national higher vocational colleges in international influence for three consecutive years. It is a training base for presidents of vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education and a national high-skilled talent training base. At present, it is striving towards the goal of building a "first-class domestic and internationally renowned high-level vocational college with Chinese characteristics".
