湖北商贸学院是经教育部批准设立的全日制普通本科高校，创办于1995年，前身为湖北工业大学商贸学院，2015年4月转设为独立设置的民办普通本科高校。学校地处湖北省，现有武汉、咸宁两个校区，总占地面积近1400亩，校舍面积约40万平方米，全日制在校生近20000人，中国科学院院士吴宏鑫担任名誉校长。

Hubei Business College is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. Founded in 1995, it was formerly known as the Business College of Hubei University of Technology and was transformed into an independently established private ordinary undergraduate university in April 2015. Located in Hubei Province, the university has two campuses in Wuhan and Xianning, covering a total area of nearly 1,400 mu with a school building area of about 400,000 square meters. It has nearly 20,000 full-time students, and academician Wu Hongxin of the Chinese Academy of Sciences serves as the honorary president.

学校坚持“地方性、应用型、有特色”的办学定位，秉承“梦想、行动、智慧、快乐”的校训精神，构建了涵盖经、管、文、工、艺、教育等6大学科门类的60余个本专科专业体系。其中设计学为湖北省重点培育学科，金融学、计算机科学与技术等6个专业入选省级一流本科专业建设点，拥有省级一流课程、精品资源共享课程24门，积极探索“产业学院+双证制度”的应用型人才培养模式，与华为、华中数控等企业共建8个现代产业学院。

Adhering to the school-running orientation of "local, application-oriented and distinctive" and the school motto of "Dream, Action, Wisdom, Happiness", the university has constructed a system of over 60 undergraduate and junior college majors covering 6 disciplines including economics, management, literature, engineering, art, and education. Among them, Design is a key cultivation discipline in Hubei Province, and 6 majors such as Finance and Computer Science and Technology have been selected as provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. It has 24 provincial first-class courses and excellent resource-sharing courses, actively exploring the application-oriented talent training model of "industry college + double-certificate system", and jointly building 8 modern industry colleges with enterprises such as Huawei and Huazhong Numerical Control.

武汉校区位于光谷核心区域，毗邻多所部属高校；咸宁校区依山傍水，校园环境优美。教学设施完善，建有115个实验场所、170万册馆藏图书的现代化图书馆及包含恒温游泳馆、千人大礼堂的文体中心，学生公寓配备空调、热水器等智能化生活设施，为学生提供优质学习生活环境。

The Wuhan campus is located in the core area of Optics Valley, adjacent to many universities directly under the Ministry of Education; the Xianning campus is surrounded by mountains and rivers with a beautiful campus environment. The teaching facilities are complete, including 115 experimental sites, a modern library with 1.7 million collected books, and a cultural and sports center with a constant-temperature swimming pool and a 1,000-seat auditorium. Student apartments are equipped with intelligent living facilities such as air conditioners and water heaters, providing students with a high-quality learning and living environment.

学校连续多年位列全国民办大学排行榜前30名，获评“中国一流民办大学”“湖北省高校体育工作先进单位”等荣誉，2024年通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估，致力于建设特色鲜明的高水平应用型高等院校。

The university has ranked among the top 30 private universities in China for many consecutive years, and has been awarded honors such as "China's First-class Private University" and "Advanced Unit of Physical Education Work in Hubei Provincial Colleges and Universities".
