湖北交通职业技术学院是经湖北省人民政府批准、教育部备案的全日制公办普通高等学校，由湖北省交通运输厅主办，1953年建校，2001年4月在原湖北交通学校、湖北航运学校、湖北汽车学校合并基础上成立。学校是国家优质专科高等职业院校、国家“双高计划”建设单位，全国交通职业教育示范院校和湖北省示范性高等职业院校，为海军、空军、武警定向军士培养基地，被誉为“湖北交通人才的摇篮”。

Hubei Communications Technical College is a full-time public higher vocational college approved by the Hubei Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. Sponsored by the Hubei Provincial Department of Transportation, it was founded in 1953 and established in April 2001 through the merger of the former Hubei Communications School, Hubei Shipping School, and Hubei Automobile School. It is a national high-quality vocational college, a national "Double High Plan" construction unit, a national transportation vocational education demonstration college, and a Hubei provincial示范性 higher vocational college. It serves as a training base for定向 non-commissioned officers of the Navy, Air Force, and Armed Police, and is known as "the cradle of Hubei transportation talents".

学校以“重德、励志、笃学、尚能”为校训，坚持“立足交通、面向社会，以服务发展为宗旨，以促进就业为导向”的办学理念，设有公路与轨道学院、汽车与航空学院等8个教学单位，开设48个以交通运输类为主的专业。现有全日制在校生1.2万余名，教职工600余人，占地面积1000亩，实习实训设备总值8000余万元，校内建有15个实训基地和162个实训室，校外实习实训基地230个。

With the school motto of "Upholding Virtue, Aspiring for Progress, Studying Diligently, and Emphasizing Ability", the college adheres to the educational philosophy of "rooted in transportation, facing society, aiming at serving development, and oriented towards promoting employment". It has 8 teaching units including the School of Highway and Railway Engineering and the School of Automotive and Aeronautical Engineering, offering 48 majors mainly in transportation. The college has over 12,000 full-time students and more than 600 faculty members, covering an area of 1,000 mu. The total value of its internship and training equipment exceeds 80 million yuan, with 15 on-campus training bases, 162 training rooms, and 230 off-campus internship bases.

办学70余年来，学校累计培养毕业生13万余名，涌现出全国交通工程技术人员楷模陈刚毅、全国见义勇为英雄蒋雪峰等杰出校友。学校积极开展国际合作，与澳大利亚、俄罗斯等国家院校建立合作关系，是湖北省高职教育国际交流联盟副理事长单位，荣获“全国高等职业院校服务贡献50强”“湖北省最佳文明单位”等称号。

Over 70 years of办学, the college has cultivated more than 130,000 graduates, including outstanding alumni such as Chen Gangyi, a model of national transportation engineering technicians, and Jiang Xuefeng, a national hero of righteousness. It actively engages in international cooperation, establishing partnerships with institutions in Australia, Russia, and other countries. As the vice chairman unit of the Hubei Vocational Education International Exchange Alliance, it has been awarded titles such as "Top 50 National Higher Vocational Colleges in Service Contribution" and "Hubei Provincial Best Civilized Unit".
