河北科技学院是经教育部批准、河北省教育厅主管的普通本科高等院校，由贺阳教育投资有限公司创办。学校始建于1991年，前身为保定虎振职业技术学院，历经保定科技职业学院等发展阶段，2011年升格为本科院校并更现名。2015年获学士学位授予权，2016年成为河北省专业硕士学位授予权立项建设单位，2018年通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估，2020年被确定为河北省应用型转型试点高校。

Hebei College of Science and Technology is an ordinary undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education and administered by the Hebei Provincial Department of Education, founded by Heyang Education Investment Co., Ltd. Established in 1991, the university originated as Baoding Huzhen Vocational and Technical College, evolved through stages such as Baoding Vocational College of Science and Technology, and was upgraded to an undergraduate institution with its current name in 2011. It obtained the right to grant bachelor's degrees in 2015, became a project construction unit for professional master's degree authorization in Hebei Province in 2016, passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment by the Ministry of Education in 2018, and was designated as an applied transformation pilot university in Hebei Province in 2020.

学校现有曹妃甸、保定两个校区，总占地3700余亩，建筑面积约127万平方米。设有机电工程学院、汽车工程学院等9个二级学院及2个教学部，开设40个本科专业、29个专科专业，形成以工科为主，工、管、经、艺、教、医等多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。现有教职工2055人，在校生3.6万余人，教学仪器设备总值超1.5亿元，图书馆藏书207万余册，建有203个校外实习实训基地。

The university currently has two campuses in Caofeidian and Baoding, covering a total area of over 3,700 mu with a building area of approximately 1.27 million square meters. It comprises 9 secondary colleges including the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the College of Automotive Engineering, as well as 2 teaching departments. Offering 40 undergraduate programs and 29 junior college programs, it has formed a disciplinary system dominated by engineering and coordinated development of multiple disciplines including engineering, management, economics, arts, education, and medicine. The university has 2,055 faculty members and over 36,000 students, with teaching equipment worth over 150 million yuan, a library collection of more than 2.07 million volumes, and 203 off-campus internship and training bases.
