湖北师范大学文理学院是2003年经国家教育部批准设立的普通本科高等学校独立学院。学校位于湖北省黄石市经济技术开发区金山大道东666号，规划占地面积近1800亩，已建成校舍面积49万平方米。东邻西塞山，西视古矿冶，南依大冶湖，北接黄金山，自然风光得天独厚，人文景观错落有致，校园绿树成荫，环境幽雅，被评为黄石市文明单位、黄石市文明校园、黄石市园林式单位，是求学深造、陶冶情操的理想场所。

College of Arts and Sciences of Hubei Normal University is an independent college of ordinary undergraduate higher education approved by the Ministry of Education in 2003. Located at No. 666 East Jinshan Avenue, Economic and Technological Development Zone, Huangshi City, Hubei Province, the university has a planned area of nearly 1,800 mu and a completed school building area of 490,000 square meters. Adjacent to Xisai Mountain in the east, ancient mining and metallurgy in the west, Daye Lake in the south, and Huangjin Mountain in the north, it boasts unique natural scenery and scattered cultural landscapes. The campus is shaded by green trees and has a quiet environment. It has been rated as a Civilized Unit of Huangshi City, a Civilized Campus of Huangshi City, and a Garden-style Unit of Huangshi City, making it an ideal place for studying and cultivating sentiment.

学校教学资源丰富，教学科研仪器设备总值7500余万元，图书馆馆藏纸质图书120余万册，电子图书360余万册。设有5个学部和4个产业学院，现有在校生近15000人，开设有28个本科专业和25个专科专业，形成了以电子信息和现代服务管理类学科为重点建设，以教师教育类学科为亮点建设，多学科协调发展的学科专业布局。其中，英语、电子信息工程和计算机科学与技术专业获评湖北省一流专业建设点，幼儿英语教学法、构图学获批省级一流课程。

The university is rich in teaching resources, with a total value of more than 75 million yuan in teaching and research instruments and equipment. The library has a collection of more than 1.2 million paper books and over 3.6 million e-books. It has 5 academic divisions and 4 industrial colleges, with nearly 15,000 students. It offers 28 undergraduate majors and 25 junior college majors, forming a disciplinary and professional layout with electronic information and modern service management disciplines as key constructions, teacher education disciplines as highlight constructions, and multi-disciplinary coordinated development. Among them, English, Electronic Information Engineering, and Computer Science and Technology have been rated as first-class professional construction sites in Hubei Province, and Preschool English Teaching Method and Composition Science have been approved as provincial first-class courses.

学校自有和聘任教师813名，其中具有副高级以上职称教师328人，硕士以上学位教师434人。近三年教师共承担各级教科研课题200余项，其中教育部供需对接就业育人项目13项，教育部产教合作协同育人项目12项。持续推进政校行企合作和产教融合，先后与多家单位深度合作，共同开办产业学院和特色班级，产教融合育人特色鲜明。2024年进入校友会全国独立学院排行榜第6名，成功迈入一流应用型大学行列。

The university has 813 self-owned and appointed teachers, including 328 with associate senior titles or above and 434 with master's degrees or above. In the past three years, teachers have undertaken more than 200 teaching and research projects at all levels, including 13 employment-education projects of the Ministry of Education for supply and demand docking, and 12 industry-education cooperation and collaborative education projects of the Ministry of Education. It continues to promote cooperation between government, schools, industries and enterprises, and industry-education integration. It has carried out in-depth cooperation with many units, jointly establishing industrial colleges and characteristic classes, with distinct characteristics of industry-education integration in talent cultivation. In 2024, it ranked 6th in the Alumni Association's National Independent College Ranking and successfully entered the ranks of first-class applied universities.
