湖北生物科技职业学院是经湖北省人民政府批准、国家教育部备案设立的全日制公办普通高等院校，创建于1958年，位于武汉市洪山区野芷湖湖畔，毗邻多所知名高校。学院以生物类和农科专业为特色，涵盖高职教育、中职教育、成人教育及社会服务，是商务部“中国湖北农业官员培训中心”和农业部“现代农业技术培训基地”。

Hubei Vocational College of Bio-technology is a full-time public higher education institution approved by the Hubei Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. Founded in 1958, it is located by Yezhi Lake in Hongshan District, Wuhan, adjacent to several renowned universities. With bio-technology and agricultural majors as its highlights, the college offers higher vocational education, secondary vocational education, adult education, and social services. It serves as the "China Hubei Agricultural Officials Training Center" of the Ministry of Commerce and the "Modern Agricultural Technology Training Base" of the Ministry of Agriculture.

学院占地351亩，教学建筑面积26.3万平方米，实验仪器设备总值1.2亿元，图书馆藏书83万册，建有83个校内实验实训室和126个校外实训基地。开设38个专业，其中畜牧兽医、生物制药技术为中央财政支持重点专业，水产养殖技术、园艺技术是湖北省高职教育重点专业，在校生规模达8000余人。

The college covers an area of 351 mu (about 23.4 hectares) with a teaching building area of 263,000 square meters. Its experimental equipment is valued at 120 million yuan, and the library houses 830,000 books. It has 83 on-campus laboratories and training rooms, and 126 off-campus training bases. Offering 38 majors, it features key majors supported by central finance such as Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, and Bio-pharmaceutical Technology. Aquaculture Technology and Horticultural Technology are key majors of Hubei higher vocational education, with over 8,000 students enrolled.

师资队伍中，享受国务院及省政府津贴专家10人，博士7人，硕士113人，教授、副教授105人，双师素质教师占比75%。近年来获省级科技进步奖2项，出版专著教材231部，发表学术论文2100余篇，形成了“立德树人、勤学强能”的校训精神和“教学生听得懂、学得会、用得上”的教学理念。

The faculty includes 10 experts enjoying special allowances from the State Council and Hubei Provincial Government, 7 doctors, 113 masters, and 105 professors and associate professors, with 75% of teachers possessing dual-qualification (professional and teaching). In recent years, it has won 2 provincial science and technology progress awards, published 231 monographs and textbooks, and issued over 2,100 academic papers. The college upholds the school motto of "Morality-Fostering, Diligence-Learning, and Ability-Enhancing" and the teaching philosophy of "teaching knowledge that students can understand, learn, and apply."
