邯郸学院位于国家历史文化名城、国家优秀旅游城市、太极拳圣地、成语典故之都河北省邯郸市，是一所公办全日制普通本科院校。办学历史始于1905年成立的邯郸县初级师范学堂，1982年升格为邯郸师范专科学校，2004年升格为本科院校并定名为邯郸学院，2012年通过教育部本科教学合格评估，2016年被列为河北省硕士学位授予权立项建设单位，2017年通过教育部本科教学工作审核评估。

Handan University is a public full-time ordinary undergraduate college located in Handan City, Hebei Province, a national historical and cultural city, a national excellent tourist city, the birthplace of Tai Chi, and the capital of idioms and allusions. Its educational history began with the Handan County Primary Normal School founded in 1905. It was upgraded to Handan Teachers College in 1982, and to an undergraduate college named Handan University in 2004. In 2012, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education. In 2016, it was listed as a project construction unit for granting master's degrees in Hebei Province, and in 2017, it passed the undergraduate teaching audit assessment of the Ministry of Education.

学校现有在职教职工1229人，教授、副教授381人，博士、硕士909人。全日制本科在校生18051人，成人学历教育学生9329人。设有20个二级学院（中心），63个本科专业（含中外合作办学项目），涉及10大学科门类。校园占地1193亩，建筑面积58.6万平方米，教学科研仪器设备资产总值2.3亿元，纸质图书170余万册，是全国绿化先进单位、教育部第一批全国普通高校中华优秀传统文化传承基地、河北省文明校园。

The university currently has 1,229 in-service faculty and staff, including 381 professors and associate professors, and 909 doctors and masters. There are 18,051 full-time undergraduate students and 9,329 adult education students. It has 20 secondary colleges (centers) and 63 undergraduate majors (including Sino-foreign cooperative education programs), covering 10 university disciplines. The campus covers an area of 1,193 mu with a building area of 586,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 230 million yuan, and there are more than 1.7 million paper books. It is a national advanced unit of afforestation, one of the first national heritage bases for excellent traditional Chinese culture in ordinary colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education, and a civilized campus in Hebei Province.

学校以立德树人为根本任务，坚持“立足邯郸，服务社会，承文育师，融导产业”的服务面向定位。拥有社科类国家级博士后科研工作站1个，国家级特色专业1个，国家级一流本科专业建设点1个，省级一流专业建设点11个，省级重点发展学科3个，国家级一流课程2门，省级一流课程7门，国家、省级质量工程项目33个，省级实验教学示范中心4个，省级教学成果奖12项，省市级科研平台18个，省级科普基地4个。

The university takes moral education as its fundamental task and adheres to the service orientation of "based in Handan, serving the society, inheriting culture and educating teachers, integrating and guiding industries". It has 1 national-level post-doctoral research workstation in social sciences, 1 national-level characteristic major, 1 national-level first-class undergraduate major construction site, 11 provincial-level first-class major construction sites, 3 provincial-level key development disciplines, 2 national-level first-class courses, 7 provincial-level first-class courses, 33 national and provincial quality engineering projects, 4 provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, 12 provincial-level teaching achievement awards, 18 provincial and municipal scientific research platforms, and 4 provincial-level popular science bases.

近年来，获批国家社科基金、国家自然基金、国家艺术基金等国家级项目28项，获得河北省社科优秀成果奖、科技进步奖等省级奖项11项。学校英语、化学、学前教育、生物科学、汉语言文学、特殊教育6个专业通过了师范专业二级认证，13个专业列入教育部师范生免试认定改革范围。

In recent years, it has obtained 28 national-level projects such as the National Social Science Fund, National Natural Science Fund, and National Art Fund, and 11 provincial-level awards such as Hebei Provincial Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award and Science and Technology Progress Award. Six majors of the university, including English, Chemistry, Preschool Education, Biological Science, Chinese Language and Literature, and Special Education, have passed the second-level certification of normal majors, and 13 majors have been included in the reform scope of exemption from examination for normal students of the Ministry of Education.
