河北工艺美术职业学院是河北省唯一一所旨在培养工艺美术设计专业人才的公办全日制高等艺术院校，于1964年建校，坐落于历史文化名城保定。其前身为全国五大工艺美校之一的河北工艺美术学校，由时任全国人大副委员长郭沫若先生题写校名。2001年10月，经河北省教育厅批准，与河北大学联合组建河北大学工艺美术学院；2013年2月，经河北省人民政府批准、教育部备案，独立建制为河北工艺美术职业学院；2022年9月，学院由省国资委划转至省教育厅管理。

Hebei Vocational College of Arts and Crafts is the only public full-time higher art institution in Hebei Province dedicated to cultivating professionals in arts and crafts design. Founded in 1964 and located in Baoding, a famous historical and cultural city, its predecessor was Hebei School of Arts and Crafts, one of the five major national arts and crafts schools, with the school name inscribed by Guo Moruo, then Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress. In October 2001, approved by the Hebei Provincial Department of Education, it jointly established the School of Arts and Crafts of Hebei University with Hebei University. In February 2013, approved by the People's Government of Hebei Province and registered by the Ministry of Education, it was established as an independent Hebei Vocational College of Arts and Crafts. In September 2022, the college was transferred from the Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission to the management of the Provincial Department of Education.
