河北中医药大学始建于1956年，初名河北省中医专科学校，历经多次调整与发展，2023年6月正式更名为河北中医药大学。学校是河北省人民政府与国家中医药管理局共建高校、河北省属重点骨干大学、河北省“双一流”建设高校，拥有博士学位授予权，为教育部卓越医生（中医）教育培养计划改革试点高校，具备中医学专业“5+3”一体化培养及优秀本科生免试攻读研究生资格。

Hebei University of Chinese Medicine was founded in 1956 as Hebei Provincial College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After several adjustments and developments, it was officially renamed Hebei University of Chinese Medicine in June 2023. It is a university jointly built by the People's Government of Hebei Province and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a key backbone university in Hebei Province, a "Double First-Class" construction university in Hebei Province, with doctoral degree authorization. It is a pilot university for the reform of the Ministry of Education's Excellent Doctor (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Education and Training Program, and has the qualification for the "5+3" integrated training of traditional Chinese medicine majors and exemption from examinations for outstanding undergraduates to pursue postgraduate studies.

学校现有杏苑、橘泉、祁州、东垣四个校区，主校区位于石家庄市鹿泉区，总占地面积近900亩，建筑面积32万余平方米。设有12个教学机构，开设26个本科专业，涵盖医学、理学、工学、管理学、文学5个学科门类，其中国家级一流本科专业建设点5个，拥有2个一级学科博士学位授权点及中医博士专业学位授权类别。全日制在校生近万人，培养了包括中国工程院院士、国医大师在内的数万名中医药人才。

The university currently has four campuses: Xingyuan, Juquan, Qizhou and Dongyuan, with the main campus located in Luquan District, Shijiazhuang City, covering a total area of nearly 900 mu and a building area of more than 320,000 square meters. It has 12 teaching institutions and offers 26 undergraduate majors, covering 5 disciplines including medicine, science, engineering, management and literature. Among them, there are 5 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 2 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization sites and traditional Chinese medicine doctoral professional degree authorization categories. There are nearly 10,000 full-time students, and tens of thousands of traditional Chinese medicine talents have been trained, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and national medical masters.
