河北环境工程学院坐落在气候宜人、环境优美的避暑胜地河北省秦皇岛市北戴河区。学校前身中国环境管理干部学院被社会誉为环保系统的“黄埔军校”、环保人才的“绿色摇篮”，始建于1981年，是我国最早开展生态环境教育的高校之一，也是目前全国唯一一所以生态环境教育为办学特色的应用型本科院校，同时还是河北省第二批普通本科高校向应用技术类型高校转型发展试点学校。原全国人大环资委主任曲格平教授和原中国气候变化事务特使、国家发改委副主任解振华先生曾先后兼任院长。

Hebei University of Environmental Engineering is located in Beidaihe District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, a pleasant and beautiful summer resort. The predecessor of the university, the China Institute of Environmental Management Cadres, is known as the "Whampoa Military Academy" of the environmental protection system and the "green cradle" of environmental protection talents. Founded in 1981, it is one of the earliest universities in China to carry out ecological and environmental education, and the only application-oriented undergraduate university with the办学 characteristic of ecological and environmental education in China. It is also a pilot university for the transformation and development of the second batch of ordinary undergraduate universities in Hebei Province to application-oriented technical universities. Professor Qu Geping, former director of the Environmental and Resources Protection Committee of the National People's Congress, and Mr. Xie Zhenhua, former special envoy for climate change affairs of China and former deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission, once served as deans successively.

学校现有全日制本、专科在校生近1万人，设有环境科学系、环境工程系、生态学系等11个教学单位，构建了以环境科学与工程类为主干、环境保护支撑类和环境人文艺术类为支撑的三大学科群，开设环境科学、环境工程、环境生态工程等25个本科专业，形成了以工学为主，理学、农学、管理学、艺术学、文学、教育学等多学科协调发展的布局。建校43年来，学校始终致力于培养生态文明素质突出、专业基础坚实，具有创新精神和实践能力的应用型人才，累计为社会培养本专科毕业生3万余人，毕业生就业率长期保持在90%以上，在环保行业和地方经济发展中发挥着重要作用。

The university currently has nearly 10,000 full-time undergraduate and junior college students, with 11 teaching units including the Department of Environmental Science, Department of Environmental Engineering, and Department of Ecology. It has built three major discipline groups with environmental science and engineering as the mainstay, and environmental protection support and environmental humanities and arts as the support. It offers 25 undergraduate majors such as Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, and Environmental Ecological Engineering, forming a layout with engineering as the main focus, and coordinated development of science, agriculture, management, art, literature, education and other disciplines. Over the past 43 years since its establishment, the university has been committed to cultivating application-oriented talents with outstanding ecological civilization quality, solid professional foundation, innovative spirit and practical ability. It has trained more than 30,000 undergraduate and junior college graduates for the society, and the employment rate of graduates has remained above 90% for a long time, playing an important role in the environmental protection industry and local economic development.
