河南开封科技传媒学院创建于2003年，前身是河南大学民生学院。2009年，河南日报报业集团与河南大学强强联合，共同举办民生学院。2021年2月，经教育部批准，学校转设更名为河南开封科技传媒学院。学校秉承“明德至善 慎思笃行”的校训，“乐业竞进 勇争一流”的校风和“敢于超越 自强不息”的学风，培养质量赢得社会广泛认可。

Henan Kaifeng College of Science, Technology and Media was founded in 2003, formerly known as the Minsheng College of Henan University. In 2009, Henan Daily Newspaper Group and Henan University joined forces to jointly run Minsheng College. In February 2021, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Henan Kaifeng College of Science, Technology and Media. The school adheres to the school motto of "Virtue to Perfection, Deliberation and Practice", the school spirit of "Dedication to Progress, Striving for Excellence" and the style of study of "Daring to Surpass, Self-Improvement", and its educational quality has won wide social recognition.

学校现有两个校区，金明大道校区占地面积501亩，复兴大道校区占地1370亩，现有在校生2.3万余人，全为本科生。设置13个二级学院，涵盖文、理、工、经、管、法、医、教育、艺术9大学科门类，拥有河南省重点学科2个，河南省一流本科专业建设点4个，省级工程技术研究中心3个，2023年被授予河南省文明校园称号。

The school has two campuses: the Jinming Avenue Campus covers an area of 501 mu, and the Fuxing Avenue Campus covers an area of 1370 mu. There are more than 23,000 students, all of whom are undergraduates. It has 13 secondary colleges, covering 9 disciplines including arts, science, engineering, economics, management, law, medicine, education and art. It has 2 key disciplines in Henan Province, 4 first-class undergraduate major construction sites in Henan Province, and 3 provincial engineering technology research centers. In 2023, it was awarded the title of Civilized Campus in Henan Province.

学校注重应用型人才创新能力培养，构建全员参与的高质量就业体系，推出“教师上课达标考核”“教师一人一招”等措施提升教学质量。每学年开设小学期课程，面向所有学生开设游泳必修课和心肺复苏课，要求“人人会游泳、人人会急救”。近三年在各类国家级学科竞赛中获得省级以上奖励近2000项，毕业生考取研究生数量、比例和质量在全国同类院校中名列前茅。

The school focuses on cultivating the innovative ability of applied talents, builds a high-quality employment system with full participation, and introduces measures such as "teacher class qualification assessment" and "teacher one-person-one-strategy" to improve teaching quality. Every academic year, short-term courses are offered, and swimming and cardiopulmonary resuscitation courses are offered to all students, requiring "everyone can swim and everyone can first aid". In the past three years, it has won nearly 2,000 provincial and above awards in various national discipline competitions, and the number, proportion and quality of graduates admitted to postgraduate studies are among the top in similar universities in the country.
