Heilongjiang University of Science and Technology is located on the banks of the Songhua River in Harbin, the beautiful "Ice City and Summer Capital". 学校创建于1947年,其前身是中国共产党创建的我国第一所矿业类院校——东北工人学校。1954年与鹤岗煤矿工业学校合并成立鸡西煤矿学校。1978年,国务院同意增设鸡西矿业学院,1981年改称黑龙江矿业学院,隶属于原国家煤炭工业部。1998年划归地方,实行中央与地方共建、以黑龙江省管理为主的体制。2000年更名为黑龙江科技学院。2013年更名为黑龙江科技大学。
Founded in 1947, the university's predecessor was the Northeast Workers' School, the first mining institution established by the Communist Party of China. In 1954, it merged with Hegang Coal Mine Industrial School to form Jixi Coal Mine School. In 1978, the State Council approved the establishment of Jixi Mining Institute, which was renamed Heilongjiang Mining Institute in 1981 and affiliated to the former State Coal Industry Ministry. In 1998, it was transferred to local management under the system of joint construction by the central and local governments with Heilongjiang Province as the main administrator. In 2000, it was renamed Heilongjiang Institute of Science and Technology, and in 2013, it was renamed Heilongjiang University of Science and Technology.
