湖南汽车工程职业大学是湖南省第一所公办本科层次职业院校，坐落于株洲市，前身为2005年创建的株洲职业技术学院，2024年5月经教育部批准升格为职业本科大学。学校实行省市共管、以株洲市为主的管理体制，占地面积1718.28亩，现有专任教师1040人，全日制在校生1.9万人，设有11个教学学院，开设本科专业6个、专科专业43个，形成以汽车类专业为引领的特色办学格局。

Hunan Automotive Engineering Vocational University, the first public undergraduate vocational college in Hunan Province, is located in Zhuzhou City. Its predecessor was Zhuzhou Vocational and Technical College founded in 2005, and it was upgraded to an undergraduate vocational university with the approval of the Ministry of Education in May 2024. The university is jointly managed by the provincial and municipal governments, with Zhuzhou City as the main administrator. Covering an area of 1,718.28 mu, it has 1,040 full-time teachers and 19,000 full-time students. It consists of 11 teaching colleges, offering 6 undergraduate programs and 43 junior college programs, forming a distinctive educational pattern led by automotive-related majors.

学校坚持"立足汽车行业，服务汽车产业"的办学定位，秉持"厚德、精技、笃学、致用"校训，先后获评全国职业教育先进单位、国家级职教集团培育单位、教育部1+X证书制度试点院校等荣誉。依托李德毅院士领衔的汽车全产业链协同创新平台，建有宝马、比亚迪等6个产业学院，近五年获国家专利560余项，年均开展社会培训3.8万人次，形成了"产教融合、科教融汇"的办学特色。

Adhering to the educational orientation of "rooting in the automotive industry and serving the automotive sector" and the school motto of "Virtue, Proficiency, Diligence, and Application", the university has been awarded honors such as National Advanced Unit in Vocational Education, National Vocational Education Group Cultivation Unit, and Ministry of Education's 1+X Certificate System Pilot Institution. Relying on the automotive industry chain collaborative innovation platform led by Academician Li Deyi, it has established 6 industrial colleges with partners like BMW and BYD. In the past five years, it has obtained over 560 national patents and conducted an average of 38,000 person-times of social training annually, forming the educational characteristics of "integration of industry and education, integration of science and education".
