郴州职业技术学院是经湖南省人民政府批准成立的公办全日制普通高等职业院校，其前身为创办于20世纪60年代的郴州商业学校和郴州机械电力工程学校，2001年8月合并组建为高职院校，2011年郴州市建筑学校整体并入，至今已有60多年办学历史。学校坐落于全国文明城市、湖南“南大门”郴州市，背靠王仙岭国家级生态旅游公园，交通便捷，距长沙、广州仅1小时高铁车程。

Chenzhou Vocational Technical College is a public full-time higher vocational college approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government. Its predecessors were Chenzhou Commercial School and Chenzhou Machinery & Electric Power Engineering School founded in the 1960s. It was merged into a higher vocational college in August 2001, and Chenzhou Architectural School was fully incorporated in 2011, boasting a history of over 60 years in running schools. Located in Chenzhou, a national civilized city and the "Southern Gateway" of Hunan Province, the college is backed by the Wangxianling National Ecological Tourism Park with convenient transportation, only a 1-hour high-speed rail ride from Changsha and Guangzhou.

学校现有在校学生11000余人，设有现代装备制造学院、新能源学院等8个二级学院，开设机电一体化技术、软件技术、旅游管理等23个专业，其中3个专业群入选湖南省首批楚怡高水平专业群建设项目。师资力量雄厚，教职工471人，副高及以上专任教师138人，双师素质教师占比达80%，聘请企业技能大师、行业专家288人参与教学。近年来获国家级技能竞赛奖5项、省级以上教学成果336项，立项国家级专利131项，牵头成立郴州职业教育区域协同发展联合体，与华为、比亚迪等企业共建产业学院，深度服务地方经济发展。

The college currently has over 11,000 students and 8 secondary colleges including the College of Modern Equipment Manufacturing and the College of New Energy, offering 23 majors such as Mechatronics Technology, Software Technology, and Tourism Management. Among them, 3 major groups have been selected into Hunan Province's first batch of Chuyi High-level Professional Group Construction Projects. With a strong teaching staff of 471 employees, including 138 full-time teachers with associate senior titles or above, 80% of the teachers possess dual-professional qualities, and 288 enterprise skill masters and industry experts are invited to participate in teaching. In recent years, it has won 5 national-level skill competition awards, 336 teaching achievements above the provincial level, and 131 national-level patents. It has taken the lead in establishing the Chenzhou Vocational Education Regional Collaborative Development Alliance and co-built industrial colleges with enterprises such as Huawei and BYD, providing in-depth services for local economic development.

学校先后获评湖南省示范性（骨干）高职院校、湖南省文明高校、湖南省平安建设示范校等荣誉称号，2024年入围楚怡工匠计划试点高校，与本科院校联合培养本科层次技术技能人才。秉持“厚德、笃学、重能、砺行”校训，学校正朝着建设特色鲜明、国内一流的高水平职业院校目标迈进，致力于培养适应产业发展需求的高素质技术技能人才。

The college has successively been awarded honors such as Hunan Provincial Demonstrative (Backbone) Higher Vocational College, Hunan Provincial Civilized College, and Hunan Provincial Safe Construction Demonstration School. In 2024, it was shortlisted as a pilot college for the Chuyi Craftsman Program, jointly cultivating undergraduate-level technical and skilled talents with undergraduate universities. Upholding the school motto of "Virtue, Learning, Ability, and Practice", the college is striding towards the goal of building a high-level vocational college with distinctive characteristics and first-class standards in China, dedicated to cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents to meet industrial development needs.
