湖南工程职业技术学院是国家教育部备案、湖南省人民政府批准、湖南省教育厅主管的国有公办全日制普通高等学校。自1958年建校以来，学校始终坚持“传承大地文化，培养高素质技术技能人才”的办学理念，秉承“德技共举、知行合一”的校训，根植自然资源行业，对接自然资源主业与土木工程产业，明确了服务国家发展战略、湖南经济社会高质量发展及“三高四新”美好蓝图的建设发展思路。

Hunan Engineering Vocational and Technical College is a state-owned public full-time ordinary higher education institution approved by the People's Government of Hunan Province, registered with the Ministry of Education, and administered by the Education Department of Hunan Province. Since its establishment in 1958, the college has始终 adhered to the educational philosophy of "inheriting earth culture and cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents", and upheld the school motto of "Upholding both morality and skills, integrating knowledge and practice". Rooted in the natural resources industry, it aligns with the main business of natural resources and civil engineering industry, and has clearly defined the development思路 of serving national development strategies, high-quality economic and social development of Hunan, and the construction of the "Three Highlands and Four New Missions" blueprint.

学校着力推进自然资源专业集群、工程建设专业集群、现代服务专业集群等三大专业集群布局，构建“一龙头三重点四支撑五发展”的自然资源特色专业体系，全面实施党建领校、人才兴校、特色强校等六大工程，建设生态、智慧、节约、文明、平安、和谐校园。目前，学校占地面积600余亩，总资产5.73亿元，全日制在校生12000余人，教职工700余人，双师素质专任教师占比86%，高级职称教师200余人。

The college focuses on promoting the layout of three major professional clusters: natural resources, engineering construction, and modern services, and constructs a natural resources characteristic professional system of "one leader, three key areas, four supports, and five developments". It comprehensively implements six major projects including party building leading the college, talent strengthening the college, and characteristic enhancing the college, and builds an ecological, intelligent, economical, civilized, safe, and harmonious campus. Currently, the college covers an area of over 600 mu, with a total asset of 573 million yuan, more than 12,000 full-time students, and over 700 faculty members. The proportion of full-time teachers with dual-qualification (professional and teaching) is 86%, and there are more than 200 teachers with senior professional titles.

学校设有八院两部一中心，开设32个专业，拥有3个湖南省“楚怡”高水平专业群、1个省级一流专业群，2个央财重点支持专业及多个省级特色、精品专业。实习实训条件优良，建有178个校外基地和116个校内实训室，5个专业实训区被确定为国家级或省级实训基地。学校育人成效显著，学生获国家级竞赛奖项20项、省级一等奖15项，教师团队获国家专利及软著30项，完成横向项目20余项，连续多年获评湖南省大学生就业创业示范校。

The college has eight schools, two departments, and one center, offering 32 majors. It has 3 Hunan Provincial "Chuyi" high-level professional groups, 1 provincial first-class professional group, 2 key majors supported by the central finance, and multiple provincial-level characteristic and excellent majors. It has excellent internship and training conditions, with 178 off-campus bases and 116 on-campus training rooms, and 5 professional training areas have been identified as national or provincial training bases. The college has achieved remarkable educational results: students have won 20 national competition awards and 15 provincial first prizes; the teaching team has obtained 30 national patents and software copyrights; and completed more than 20 horizontal projects. It has been rated as a Hunan Provincial Model School for College Students' Employment and Entrepreneurship for many consecutive years.
