湖南工程学院应用技术学院是2002年经教育部批准设立，由湖南工程学院举办的全日制普通本科独立学院，位于湖南省湘潭市。学院校址设在湖南工程学院南校区，校园绿树成荫、环境典雅，共享母体学校优质教育教学资源，包括现代化的教学设施、图书资料和实习基地。目前在校学生4800余人，开设电气工程及其自动化、机械设计制造及其自动化、工商管理等18个本科专业，均为湖南工程学院的品牌与特色专业，面向全国招生。

Hunan Institute of Engineering, College of Applied Technology is a full-time general undergraduate independent college approved by the Ministry of Education in 2002, sponsored by Hunan Institute of Engineering, located in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province. The college is situated on the South Campus of Hunan Institute of Engineering, featuring a lush and elegant campus environment, and shares high-quality educational resources with the parent university, including modern teaching facilities, library materials, and internship bases. Currently, it has over 4,800 students and offers 18 undergraduate programs such as Electrical Engineering and Automation, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, and Business Administration, all of which are the brand and characteristic majors of Hunan Institute of Engineering, enrolling students nationwide.

学院依托湖南工程学院的师资力量，组建了一支由111名高级职称教师、9名省级学科带头人、3名省级教学名师及40余名博导/硕导构成的教学团队。秉承“锲而不舍，敢为人先”的校训，学院坚持实践育人理念，突出应用型人才培养，建校22年来已为社会输送2万余名综合素质高、适应能力强的高级应用型人才，毕业生广受用人单位好评。学生修完教学计划课程且成绩合格者，颁发湖南工程学院应用技术学院本科毕业证书，符合条件者授予学士学位证书。
