湖南交通工程学院是经教育部批准的全日制普通本科高校，坐落于中国历史文化名城——衡阳，始建于1991年，2014年升格为本科院校并更现名，2018年获学士学位授予权。学校以“用‘铁血精神’育人，造就新时代‘铁人铁军’”为办学特色，形成了以工学为主，管理学、医学、经济学、艺术学、文学等多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。

Hunan Institute of Traffic Engineering is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. Located in Hengyang, a famous historical and cultural city in China, it was founded in 1991, upgraded to an undergraduate institution and renamed in 2014, and obtained the right to grant bachelor's degrees in 2018. With the educational characteristic of "cultivating people with 'iron-blood spirit' to create a new era of 'iron men and iron army'", the university has formed a discipline system dominated by engineering and coordinated development of management, medicine, economics, art, literature and other disciplines.

学校现设11个教学科研单位，开设30个本科专业，拥有省级应用特色学科2个、省级一流本科专业建设点5个。建有以博士、教授、行业精英为主体的“双师双能型”师资队伍，教职工1118人，全日制在校学生14202人。校园占地1291.13亩，教学科研仪器设备总值超1亿元，图书馆馆藏纸质图书131.35万册，电子图书198.7万册，各类国家级、省级实训基地和实验室为应用型人才培养提供坚实支撑。

The university currently has 11 teaching and research units, offering 30 undergraduate majors, with 2 provincial applied characteristic disciplines and 5 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. It has built a "double-qualified and double-capable" faculty team mainly composed of doctors, professors and industry elites, with 1,118 faculty members and 14,202 full-time students. The campus covers an area of 1,291.13 mu, with teaching and research instruments and equipment worth over 100 million yuan. The library has 1.3135 million paper books and 1.987 million e-books. Various national and provincial training bases and laboratories provide solid support for the cultivation of applied talents.

学校秉承“厚德、善思、强能、笃行”校训，深化产教融合，近三年获国家级大学生创新创业训练计划项目66项，学生获国家级学科竞赛奖项98项，毕业生初次就业率连续多年位居湖南省本科高校前列。先后荣获“湖南省文明高校”“湖南省就业创业工作‘一把手工程’优秀单位”等荣誉称号，办学水平和人才培养质量获社会广泛认可。

Adhering to the school motto of "Virtue, Reflection, Ability and Practice", the university deepens the integration of industry and education. In the past three years, it has obtained 66 national college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training program projects, and students have won 98 national discipline competition awards. The initial employment rate of graduates has been among the top of Hunan's undergraduate universities for many years. It has successively won honorary titles such as "Hunan Civilized University" and "Excellent Unit of Hunan Employment and Entrepreneurship 'Top Leader Project'", and its school-running level and talent training quality have been widely recognized by the society.
