湖南九嶷职业技术学院是由湖南省人民政府批准、国家教育部备案、永州市人民政府举办的全日制高等职业院校，前身为1980年由著名农林学家乐天宇教授创办的九嶷山学院，2005年正式更名，2010年转为公办并与潇湘技师学院合并办学，实行“两块牌子、一套人马”管理模式。学院秉持“修德、砺能、笃行、自强”校训，以培养高素质技术技能人才为目标，形成了集高职教育与技工教育于一体的办学特色，是永州市唯一同时拥有国家级和省级高技能人才培训基地的职业院校。

Hunan Jiuyi Vocational and Technical College is a full-time higher vocational college approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government, registered with the Ministry of Education, and sponsored by the Yongzhou Municipal People's Government. Its predecessor was Jiuyi Mountain College founded in 1980 by the renowned agronomist Professor Le Tianyu. It was officially renamed in 2005 and converted to a public institution in 2010, merging with Hunan Xiaoxiang Technician College under a "two brands, one team" management model. Adhering to the motto of "Cultivating Virtue, Sharpening Skills, Practicing Earnestly, Striving for Self-improvement", the college aims to cultivate high-quality technical talents, forming a distinctive school-running feature integrating higher vocational education and technical education. It is the only vocational college in Yongzhou with both national and provincial high-skilled talent training bases.

学院校园占地300余亩，建筑面积12.8万平方米，拥有各类实训设备3380余台（套），总值超1亿元，设有9个教学机构和3个教辅机构，开设模具设计与制造、机电一体化技术等14个高职专业及14个技工专业，其中机电一体化技术、汽车维修等专业为省级优质专业。现有在校生9000余人，教职工407人，高级职称63人，双师型教师占比60%以上，先后荣获“湖南省职业教育先进单位”“国家级高技能人才培训基地”等称号，为区域经济发展培养了大批应用型技术人才。

The college covers an area of over 300 mu with a building area of 128,000 square meters. It boasts more than 3,380 sets of various training equipment with a total value exceeding 100 million yuan. The college has 9 teaching institutions and 3 teaching auxiliary institutions, offering 14 higher vocational majors such as Mold Design and Manufacturing, Mechatronics Technology, and 14 technical majors. Among them, Mechatronics Technology and Automobile Maintenance are provincial-level high-quality majors. Currently, it has over 9,000 students and 407 faculty members, including 63 with senior professional titles, and over 60% of "double-qualified" teachers. The college has successively won titles such as "Hunan Provincial Advanced Unit in Vocational Education" and "National High-skilled Talent Training Base", cultivating a large number of applied technical talents for regional economic development.
