湖南信息学院是一所应用型本科高校，位于中国历史文化名城长沙，坐落于长沙经济技术开发区毛塘工业园。学校创办于1997年，2004年升格为高职专科院校，2014年经教育部批准升格为本科院校，2021年获批为硕士学位授予立项建设单位。现有师生员工2万余人，设有计算机科学与工程学院、电子科学与工程学院等9个二级学院，开设软件工程、电子信息工程等24个本科专业，形成以工程应用类专业为主体，现代服务类和文化创意类专业为两翼的多学科协调发展格局。

Hunan University of Information Technology is an application-oriented undergraduate university located in Changsha, a famous historical and cultural city in China, and situated in Maotang Industrial Park of Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone. Founded in 1997, the university was upgraded to a vocational college in 2004, approved by the Ministry of Education to become an undergraduate university in 2014, and approved as a master's degree granting project construction unit in 2021. With more than 20,000 teachers, students and staff, it has 9 secondary colleges including the School of Computer Science and Engineering and the School of Electronic Science and Engineering, offering 24 undergraduate majors such as Software Engineering and Electronic Information Engineering, forming a multi-disciplinary coordinated development pattern with engineering application majors as the main body, and modern service and cultural and creative majors as the two wings.

In recent years, the university has won more than 1,000 honors such as "National Advanced Collective in Education System", "National Advanced Social Organization" and "Hunan Provincial Civilized Model Campus".
