湖南邮电职业技术学院是国家教育部备案、湖南省人民政府批准、教育业务由教育厅主管的公办全日制高职院校，创办于1958年，前身为湖南省邮电学校，2001年升格为长沙通信职业技术学院，2012年更为现名。学校坐落于湖南省长沙市天心区南湖路沙湖街128号，占地面积381亩，现有全日制在校学生近6000人，教职工近300人。

Hunan Post and Telecommunication College is a public full-time higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Hunan Province, registered with the Ministry of Education, and under the educational administration of the Provincial Department of Education. Founded in 1958 as Hunan Post and Telecommunication School, it was upgraded to Changsha Communication Vocational and Technical College in 2001 and renamed to its current name in 2012. Located at No. 128 Shahujie, Nanhu Road,天心区, Changsha City, Hunan Province, the college covers an area of 381 mu, with nearly 6,000 full-time students and nearly 300 faculty members.

学校以信息通信行业人才培养为特色，构建了以现代通信技术为主体，以移动互联应用技术和邮政快递运营管理为两翼的专业群布局，开设现代通信技术、人工智能技术应用、信息安全技术应用等20余个专业及方向，拥有省级“楚怡”高水平专业群2个，是国家现代学徒制试点单位、教育部第一批现场工程师培养计划立项单位，被誉为“湖南邮电黄埔军校”“信息通信行业大国工匠的摇篮”。

With a focus on cultivating talents for the information and communication industry, the college has established a professional group layout with modern communication technology as the main body, and mobile internet application technology and postal express operation management as the two wings. It offers over 20 majors and directions including Modern Communication Technology, Artificial Intelligence Technology Application, and Information Security Technology Application. Boasting 2 provincial-level "Chuyi" high-level professional groups, it is a national modern apprenticeship pilot unit and one of the first batch of universities approved for the Ministry of Education's Field Engineer Training Program, known as the "Hunan Post and Telecommunication Huangpu Military Academy" and "Cradle of Great Craftsmen in the Information and Communication Industry".
