湖南食品药品职业学院创办于1979年，是经湖南省人民政府批准设立、公办的全日制高等职业院校，2023年10月由湖南省市场监督管理局划转至湖南省教育厅管理。学院曾获得全国医药系统先进集体、全国医药教育先进集体、湖南省职业教育与成人教育先进单位等荣誉，食药文化传承基地为湖南省社科普及基地。

Hunan Food and Drug Vocational College was founded in 1979. It is a public full-time higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Hunan Province. In October 2023, it was transferred from Hunan Provincial Market Supervision Bureau to Hunan Provincial Department of Education for management. The college has been awarded honors such as Advanced Collective of National Pharmaceutical System, Advanced Collective of National Pharmaceutical Education, and Advanced Unit of Vocational and Adult Education in Hunan Province. Its Food and Drug Culture Inheritance Base is a social science popularization base in Hunan Province.

学院主校区位于长沙市岳麓科技产业园，占地面积近三百亩，建筑面积十余万平方米，教学、生活设施设备齐全。现有教职工近四百人，在校学生一万余人，开设有药学、中药学、食品质量与安全等19个专业，建设有2个省级楚怡高水平专业群，与沈阳药科大学合作开设函授本科专业，系湖南省职业院校食品药品类专业设置最全的院校。

The main campus of the college is located in Yuelu Science and Technology Industrial Park, Changsha City, covering an area of nearly 300 mu, with a building area of more than 100,000 square meters, and complete teaching and living facilities. There are nearly 400 faculty members and more than 10,000 students. The college offers 19 majors including Pharmacy, Chinese Materia Medica, and Food Quality and Safety, and has 2 provincial Chuyi high-level professional groups. It cooperates with Shenyang Pharmaceutical University to offer correspondence undergraduate majors, and is the vocational college in Hunan Province with the most complete range of food and drug-related majors.

学院建有GMP模拟制药车间、食品理化检验实验室等九十余间实验实训室，校外实习基地两百余个。经过46年积累，已建成食品、药品、医疗器械、化妆品等大健康类专业的高技能人才培养体系，正致力于建设成为湖南乃至中部地区有较大影响力的高素质技术技能型人才培养基地。

The college has more than 90 experimental training rooms such as GMP simulated pharmaceutical workshop and food physical and chemical inspection laboratory, and more than 200 off-campus internship bases. After 46 years of accumulation, it has built a high-skilled talent training system for major health-related majors such as food, medicine, medical devices, and cosmetics, and is committed to becoming a highly influential training base for high-quality technical and skilled talents in Hunan and even central China.
