湖南中医药高等专科学校前身为株洲市卫生学校，始建于1959年，1986年更名为湖南省株洲中医学校，1990年更名为湖南省中医药学校，2004年升格为湖南中医药高等专科学校。学校由湖南省人民政府举办，行政管理隶属于湖南省教育厅，是湖南省唯一的中医药类高等专科学校，也是全省基层中医药人才培养的主阵地。

Hunan Traditional Chinese Medicine College originated from Zhuzhou Health School, founded in 1959. It was renamed Hunan Zhuzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine School in 1986, Hunan Traditional Chinese Medicine School in 1990, and upgraded to Hunan Traditional Chinese Medicine College in 2004. Sponsored by the People's Government of Hunan Province and administratively affiliated to the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, it is the only higher vocational college of traditional Chinese medicine in Hunan Province and a key base for cultivating grassroots TCM talents in the province.

学校地处湖南省株洲市，拥有云龙校区（石峰区智慧路88号）和芦淞校区（芦淞区芦淞路136号）两个校区。作为全国中医药职业教育集团副理事长单位、首批全国职业院校健康服务类示范专业点、中医药保健服务国家标准研发及专业人才培训基地，学校开设中医学、针灸推拿、中药学、护理等20个专业，其中中药学、针灸推拿专业为国家级骨干专业，推拿学科是国家中医药管理局“十二五”中医药重点建设学科。

The college is located in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, with two campuses: Yunlong Campus (No. 88 Zhihui Road, Shifeng District) and Lusong Campus (No. 136 Lusong Road, Lusong District). As the vice-chairman unit of the National TCM Vocational Education Group, one of the first national demonstration professional points for health services in vocational colleges, and a national base for TCM health care service standard research and professional talent training, it offers 20 majors including Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Massage, Chinese Materia Medica, and Nursing. Among them, Chinese Materia Medica and Acupuncture and Massage are national key majors, and the Massage discipline is a key construction discipline of TCM during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

学校以“仁和、精诚、笃行、致远”为校训，秉持“德育为先、能力为重、突出技能、全面育人、服务社会”的办学宗旨，建有直属附属医院1家、协作型附属医院3家及150余个校外实习实训基地，面向基层医疗和中医药行业培养了大批技能型人才，是湖南省卓越校、楚怡高水平高职学校建设单位及基层医疗卫生机构本土化人才培养基地。

It has 1 directly affiliated hospital, 3 cooperative affiliated hospitals, and over 150 off-campus practice bases. It has cultivated a large number of skilled talents for grassroots medical institutions and the TCM industry, and is an excellent vocational college in Hunan Province, a construction unit of Chuyi High-level Vocational School, and a training base for localized talents in grassroots medical and health institutions in Hunan Province.
