哈尔滨远东理工学院始建于1994年，是经国家教育部批准设置的民办普通本科高等学校。学校坚守“地方性、理工类、应用型”办学定位，以培养高素质应用型人才为目标，主动服务国家发展战略和地方区域经济社会发展需求，形成了以工科为主，涵盖工学、理学、文学、经济学、管理学、艺术学六大学科门类协调发展的学科专业布局。

Harbin Far East Institute of Technology, founded in 1994, is a private ordinary undergraduate higher education institution approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. Adhering to the school-running orientation of "local, engineering-oriented, and application-oriented", the university aims to cultivate high-quality applied talents, actively serves national development strategies and local regional economic and social development needs, and has formed a disciplinary and professional layout dominated by engineering, covering six disciplines including engineering, science, literature, economics, management, and art for coordinated development.

学校设有机器人工程学院、机械电气工程学院等9个学院，开设26个本科专业，现有全日制在校生近9000人。教职工696人中，硕士及以上学位教师占比75.2%，高级以上职称教师占比47.01%，形成一支兼具教学经验与工程实践背景的“双师双能型”师资队伍。近年来，学校获批省级以上一流专业、一流课程及教科研奖项百余项，构建了课练赛创融合的实践育人体系，在机器人工程等领域特色鲜明。

The university has 9 colleges including the School of Robotics Engineering and the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, offering 26 undergraduate majors with nearly 9,000 full-time students. Among the 696 faculty members, 75.2% have master's degrees or above, and 47.01% have senior professional titles or above, forming a "double-qualified and double-capable" teaching team with both teaching experience and engineering practice background. In recent years, the university has been approved for more than 100 provincial-level or higher first-class majors, first-class courses, and teaching and research awards, and has built a practical education system integrating courses, practice, competitions and innovation, with distinctive characteristics in the field of robotics engineering.

校园占地53万平方米，各类教学设施完善，建有智慧教室、现代化实验室及文化体育场所，无线网络全校覆盖。学校秉承“自强、自律、勤奋、创新”校训，先后荣获“黑龙江省高校系统文明校园标兵”等称号，毕业生就业质量持续提升，就业去向落实率居全省高校前列，致力于建设特色鲜明的高水平应用型大学。

Covering an area of 530,000 square meters, the campus has complete teaching facilities, including smart classrooms, modern laboratories, and cultural and sports venues, with wireless network coverage throughout the campus. Upholding the school motto of "Self-improvement, Self-discipline, Diligence, Innovation", the university has successively won titles such as "Model Civilized Campus in Heilongjiang Provincial University System".
