湖南工业大学科技学院系湖南工业大学按新体制、新模式创办的独立学院，2001年经教育部和湖南省人民政府批准成立，是国家首批确认的独立学院之一，坐落于全国文明城市、国家卫生城市、国家园林城市——湖南省株洲市。学院依托湖南工业大学优质教育资源，以工为主，涵盖工、文、经、管、法、艺术、教育等七大学科门类，开设31个本科专业，致力于培养应用型高级专门人才。

College of Science and Technology, Hunan University of Technology is an independent college founded by Hunan University of Technology under a new system and mode. Approved by the Ministry of Education and Hunan Provincial People's Government in 2001, it is one of the first batch of independent colleges recognized by the state. Located in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, a national civilized city, national health city and national garden city, the college relies on the high-quality educational resources of Hunan University of Technology, focusing on engineering and covering seven disciplines including engineering, liberal arts, economics, management, law, art and education. It offers 31 undergraduate majors and is committed to cultivating applied senior professionals.
