惠州学院坐落于全国文明城市、国家历史文化名城、粤港澳大湾区重要节点城市——惠州，是省属全日制公办本科高校、全国新建本科院校联盟副理事长单位、普通本科转型试点高校、硕士学位授予单位。学校前身为1946年创办的广东省立惠州师范学校，历经惠阳师范专科学校等发展阶段，2000年升格为全日制普通本科院校。秉承“敦重明辨、求真致用”校训，学校致力于建设理工科特色鲜明、教师教育协调发展的高水平应用型大学，是东江流域重要的人才摇篮。

Huizhou University is located in Huizhou, a national civilized city, national historical and cultural city, and important node city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is a public full-time undergraduate university under Guangdong Province, vice-chairman unit of the National Alliance of Newly-built Undergraduate Colleges, pilot university for ordinary undergraduate transformation, and master's degree-granting unit. Founded in 1946 as Guangdong Provincial Huizhou Normal School, the university has gone through stages such as Huiyang Teachers College and was upgraded to a full-time ordinary undergraduate university in 2000. Adhering to the school motto of "Honest and Discerning, Seeking Truth and Applying", the university is committed to building a high-level application-oriented university with distinctive理工科 characteristics and coordinated development of teacher education, serving as an important talent cradle in the Dongjiang River basin.

学校占地约2422亩，馆藏图书（含电子文献）达448.01万册，面向20多个省（自治区、直辖市）招生，全日制在校生逾1.9万。现有专任教师1007名，其中教授91名、副教授233名，博士500名，博士占比49.65%。设有19个二级学院，开设56个本科专业，其中国家级特色专业1个，国家级、省级一流本科专业建设点18个，通过教育部师范类专业二级认证及IEET工程教育专业认证专业共8个，形成了理工科为主、多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。

The university covers an area of approximately 2422 mu, with a collection of 4.4801 million books (including electronic documents). It enrolls students from more than 20 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), with over 19,000 full-time students. There are 1007 full-time teachers, including 91 professors, 233 associate professors, and 500 doctors, accounting for 49.65% of the total. The university has 19 secondary colleges and offers 56 undergraduate majors, including 1 national-level characteristic major, 18 national and provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and 8 majors accredited by the Ministry of Education's normal major secondary certification and IEET engineering education professional certification, forming a discipline system dominated by science and engineering with coordinated development of multiple disciplines.
