杭州职业技术大学是一所公办本科层次职业院校，前身是由杭州机械、化工、纺织、丝绸、轻工、西湖电子等六所学校合并而成的杭州职工大学，2002年正式建立杭州职业技术学院。2025年经教育部和浙江省人民政府批准，升格为杭州职业技术大学，开启职业本科办学新征程。

Hangzhou Vocational and Technical University is a public vocational college at the undergraduate level. Its predecessor was Hangzhou Staff University, which was formed by the merger of six schools under the Hangzhou Economic Commission system, including Hangzhou Machinery, Chemical Industry, Textile, Silk, Light Industry, and West Lake Electronics. It was officially established as Hangzhou Vocational and Technical College in 2002. In 2025, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, it was upgraded to Hangzhou Vocational and Technical University, starting a new journey of vocational undergraduate education.

学校2010年获省示范性高职院校，2015年获国家骨干高职院校，2019年获国家优质高职院校和国家双高计划高水平学校（B档）建设单位，2024年国家双高计划高水平学校终期绩效评价获优秀等级，2025年入选第二期国家双高计划建设单位。建有钱塘、江东、新安江三个校区，占地面积1782.64亩，现有本科和专科专业48个，全日制在校生13000余人，教职工近千人，其中专任教师740余人（具有博士学位占比超过20%、具有高级职称占比超过40%）。

The university was awarded the Provincial Demonstrative Higher Vocational College in 2010, the National Key Higher Vocational College in 2015, the National High-quality Higher Vocational College and the National Double-high Plan High-level School (Grade B) construction unit in 2019. In 2024, it won the excellent grade in the final performance evaluation of the National Double-high Plan High-level School, and was selected as the second-phase National Double-high Plan construction unit in 2025. It has three campuses: Qiantang, Jiangdong and Xin'anjiang, covering an area of 1782.64 mu. Currently, it has 48 undergraduate and junior college majors, more than 13,000 full-time students and nearly 1,000 faculty members, including more than 740 full-time teachers (with a doctoral degree accounting for more than 20% and a senior professional title accounting for more than 40%).

学校坚持立足杭州市、服务浙江省、助力长三角的办学定位，紧密对接浙江省415X先进制造业集群和杭州市5+5+5产业体系，建有首批国家级市域产教联合体，形成以电梯工程技术、服装设计与工艺两大国家双高专业群为引领的2+3+X高水平专业体系。近三届获职业教育国家级教学成果奖8项（其中一等奖4项），近五年主持国家自科和社科基金项目8项、省部级科研项目112项，获省部级科研成果奖4项，科技成果转化成交额7000余万元，牵头制定国家、行业（地方、团体）标准40余项。

The university adheres to the school-running orientation of being based in Hangzhou, serving Zhejiang Province and assisting the Yangtze River Delta. It closely connects with Zhejiang's 415X advanced manufacturing cluster and Hangzhou's 5+5+5 industrial system. It has built the first batch of national municipal vocational education consortia, forming a 2+3+X high-level professional system led by two national double-high professional groups: elevator engineering technology and clothing design and technology. In the past three sessions, it has won 8 national teaching achievement awards in vocational education (including 4 first prizes). In the past five years, it has presided over 8 National Natural Science and Social Science Fund projects, 112 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, won 4 provincial and ministerial scientific research achievement awards, with a turnover of more than 70 million yuan in scientific and technological achievements transformation, and led the formulation of more than 40 national, industry (local, group) standards.
