Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (often referred to by its规范名称) is located in Kaliningrad, Russia, and is one of the nine federal universities in the Russian Federation. Its history dates back to the University of Königsberg founded in 1544, which was once an important academic center in Prussia and later Germany. In 1946, the Soviet Union established the Kaliningrad State Pedagogical Institute here, which underwent several name changes and was officially upgraded to a federal university in 2011, named after the philosopher Kant to highlight its academic heritage.

The university serves as the higher education, scientific research, and cultural center of the Kaliningrad region, comprising 13 departments and 3 colleges. It offers multi-level education from bachelor's to doctoral degrees, with disciplines covering natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, etc. It has unique advantages in Baltic-related disciplines such as oceanography and geography. In the 2025 QS World University Rankings, it is ranked in the 801-850 range, and second domestically in Russia. The university has approximately 7,847 students and 1,187 faculty members, with a relatively high proportion of international students. A new 29-hectare campus is under construction to upgrade teaching and research facilities.
