内蒙古民族大学位于内蒙古自治区东部通辽市，是一所综合型民族大学，为内蒙古自治区重点建设高校、内蒙古自治区人民政府和国家民族事务委员会共建高校，入选中国政府奖学金来华留学生接收院校、国家级大学生创新创业训练计划、新工科研究与实践项目，系欧亚-太平洋大学联盟成员。学校始建于1958年，2000年由原内蒙古民族师范学院、内蒙古蒙医学院、哲里木畜牧学院三所本科院校合并组建而成。2009年，国家民委与内蒙古自治区签署协议共建，学校成为内蒙古第二所中央与地方共建院校。

Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities is a comprehensive university for nationalities located in Tongliao City, eastern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is a key construction university of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a joint university of the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. It has been selected into the receiving institutions of Chinese Government Scholarship for international students, the National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program, and the New Engineering Research and Practice Project. It is a member of the Eurasia-Pacific University Union. The university was founded in 1958 and was formed by the merger of three undergraduate colleges, namely Inner Mongolia Normal College for Nationalities, Inner Mongolia Mongolian Medical College and Zhelimumu Animal Husbandry College in 2000. In 2009, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region signed an agreement to jointly build the university, making it the second university in Inner Mongolia jointly built by the central and local governments.

截至2023年9月，学校设有27个教学单位、7个教辅单位和1所三级甲等附属医院，开设本科专业72个，学科专业涵盖经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、农学、医学、管理学、艺术学等11个学科门类。学校师资力量雄厚，有全国先进工作者、全国五一劳动奖章等荣誉称号获得者8人，享受国务院政府特殊津贴专家21人，柔性引进高层次人才165人次，其中院士5名。蒙医药学科是学校特色优势学科，2012年蒙药学获批服务国家特殊需求人才博士点培养项目，成为世界上唯一一所可以独立授予蒙医学博士学位的学校。

As of September 2023, the university has 27 teaching units, 7 teaching auxiliary units and 1 third-class A affiliated hospital, offering 72 undergraduate majors covering 11 disciplines including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and art. The university has a strong faculty, including 8 winners of honors such as National Advanced Workers and National May 1st Labor Medals, 21 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, and 165 high-level talents introduced flexibly, including 5 academicians. Mongolian medicine is a characteristic and advantageous discipline of the university. In 2012, Mongolian pharmacy was approved as a doctoral training program for talents serving national special needs, making it the only university in the world that can independently award doctoral degrees in Mongolian medicine.
