荆楚理工学院是2007年3月经教育部批准成立的一所省属全日制普通高等学校，由荆门职业技术学院和沙洋师范高等专科学校合并组建而成，有近40年举办高等教育的历史。学校位于湖北省荆门市中心城区白龙山下，依山傍水，风景秀美，文化历史底蕴深厚，是一座山水园林式大学。

Jingchu University of Technology is a provincial full-time ordinary institution of higher education approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2007. It was formed by the merger of Jingmen Vocational and Technical College and Shayang Teachers College, with a history of nearly 40 years in higher education. The university is located at the foot of Bailong Mountain in the central urban area of Jingmen City, Hubei Province, with beautiful scenery, profound cultural and historical heritage, and is a landscape garden-style university.

学校一校区办学，校园占地面积2400余亩，校舍建筑面积38.49万平方米。教学科研仪器设备总值1.99亿元，图书馆馆藏纸质图书143万册，电子图书129万册，拥有各类电子资源数据库38个。学校设有16个教学学院（部），开设本科专业46个，涵盖理、工、农、医、文、教、经、管、艺等9大学科门类，有全日制普通在校生19000余人，其中本科生17000余人。

The university operates on a single campus covering an area of more than 2,400 mu, with a building area of 384,900 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 199 million yuan. The library has a collection of 1.43 million paper books, 1.29 million e-books, and 38 various electronic resource databases. The university has 16 teaching colleges (departments), offering 46 undergraduate majors covering 9 disciplines including science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, literature, education, economics, management, and art. There are more than 19,000 full-time ordinary students, including more than 17,000 undergraduates.
