吉林农业大学坐落于吉林省长春市，是吉林省属重点大学，吉林省特色高水平应用研究型大学（A类），吉林省人民政府与农业农村部共建大学，中西部高校基础能力建设工程高校。学校始建于1948年，历经发展，现已成为一所以农业和生命科学为优势和特色，农、理、工、医、文、管、法、教、经、艺多学科协调发展的综合性农业大学。

Jilin Agricultural University is located in Changchun, Jilin Province. It is a key university in Jilin Province, a high-level applied research university with distinctive characteristics in Jilin Province (Class A), a university jointly built by the People's Government of Jilin Province and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and a university in the basic capacity building project for universities in central and western China. Founded in 1948, the university has developed into a comprehensive agricultural university with agriculture and life sciences as its advantages and characteristics, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines including agriculture, science, engineering, medicine, literature, management, law, education, economics, and art.

学校坚持立德树人根本任务，着力培养知农爱农、强农兴农的复合型、应用型人才。现有全日制在校生2万余人，教职工1800余人，其中高级职称人员800余人，拥有双聘院士、国家万人计划、长江学者等国家级人才30余人。学校设有21个学院，63个本科专业，拥有9个一级学科博士学位授权点，20个一级学科硕士学位授权点，16个硕士专业学位授权类别。

The university adheres to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and strives to cultivate compound and applied talents who know and love agriculture and are committed to strengthening and invigorating agriculture. It currently has more than 20,000 full-time students and over 1,800 faculty members, including more than 800 with senior professional titles, and more than 30 national-level talents such as double-employed academicians, national "Ten Thousand Talents Program" scholars, and Yangtze River Scholars. The university has 21 colleges and 63 undergraduate majors, with 9 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 20 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 16 master's professional degree authorization categories.

学校高度重视科研创新和社会服务，建有省部共建国家重点实验室培育基地、国家地方联合工程研究中心等国家级科研平台5个，省部级科研平台40余个。近年来，学校承担国家重点研发计划、国家自然科学基金等国家级项目300余项，获国家科技进步奖、吉林省科技进步奖等省部级以上奖励100余项，为区域农业现代化和经济社会发展作出了重要贡献。

The university attaches great importance to scientific research innovation and social services. It has 5 national-level scientific research platforms such as the provincial and ministerial co-construction of national key laboratory cultivation bases and national-local joint engineering research centers, and more than 40 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research platforms. In recent years, the university has undertaken more than 300 national-level projects such as the National Key R&D Program and the National Natural Science Foundation, and has won more than 100 provincial and ministerial-level awards such as the National Science and Technology Progress Award and Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, making important contributions to regional agricultural modernization and economic and social development.
