吉林医药学院坐落于吉林省吉林市，创建于1952年，前身为中国人民解放军第四军医大学吉林军医学院。2004年8月，学校由军队整体移交吉林省办学，成为省属公办全日制普通高校，是吉林省唯一独立设置的西医本科院校。学校2013年通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估，2017年通过教育部临床医学专业认证，现为吉林省硕士学位授权单位立项建设A类高校。

Jilin Medical University is located in Jilin City, Jilin Province. It was founded in 1952 and its predecessor was the Jilin Military Medical College of the Fourth Military Medical University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In August 2004, the university was fully transferred from the military to Jilin Province to run the school, becoming a public full-time ordinary university under the provincial government and the only independently established western medicine undergraduate university in Jilin Province. The university passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education in 2013 and the clinical medicine professional certification of the Ministry of Education in 2017. It is now a Class A university for the establishment of master's degree authorization units in Jilin Province.

学校现开设23个本科专业，6个专科专业，分布于医、理、工、管4个学科门类。拥有国家级特色专业1个、省级一流本科专业建设点11个，国家级一流本科课程4门、省级一流本科课程33门。建有省级科研平台26个，其中省科技创新中心2个，院士工作站1个。临床医学、药学学科是吉林省特色高水平学科"优势特色学科"。

The university currently offers 23 undergraduate majors and 6 junior college majors, distributed in 4 disciplines of medicine, science, engineering and management. It has 1 national characteristic major, 11 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 4 national first-class undergraduate courses and 33 provincial first-class undergraduate courses. There are 26 provincial-level scientific research platforms, including 2 provincial science and technology innovation centers and 1 academician workstation. Clinical medicine and pharmacy are the "advantageous and characteristic disciplines" of Jilin Province's characteristic high-level disciplines.

学校与美国、英国、澳大利亚、韩国等10多个国家的高校、科研院所建立合作关系，与韩国建阳大学合作举办生物制药专业本科教育项目，招收临床医学专业国际学生300余人。学校是全国农村订单定向医学生培养院校联盟副理事长单位、首批全国急救教育试点学校、国家医师资格考试实践技能考试基地，拥有直属附属医院1所、非直属附属医院3所，均为三级甲等医院。

The university has established cooperative relations with universities and scientific research institutions in more than 10 countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and South Korea. It cooperates with Konyang University in South Korea to offer an undergraduate education program in biopharmaceutical, and enrolls more than 300 international students majoring in clinical medicine. It is the vice chairman unit of the National Alliance of Rural Order-Oriented Medical Students Training Institutions, one of the first national first-aid education pilot schools, and a national medical qualification examination practical skills examination base. It has 1 directly affiliated hospital and 3 non-directly affiliated hospitals, all of which are Grade III Class A hospitals.
